Summer may be winding down, but there's still plenty of time to enjoy the water, no matter where you live in the country. If you're looking for somewhere new to try before the last of the good weather fades away, check out Take Me Fishing's Top 8 State Parks for Boating and Fishing. The non-profit group asked its Facebook followers to nominate their favorite park in the U.S. (there are 7,804 throughout the entire country), and the results are in!
Among the eight parks, you'll find rolling hills at Lake Murray State Park in Oklahoma; 100-plus lakes at Itasca State Park in Minnesota; a manatee refuge and lots of water activities at Blue Spring State Park in Florida; 4,000 beautiful acres with handicap accessibility at El Dorado State Park in Kansas; education and environmental awareness at Presque Isle State Park in coastal Pennsylvania; rainbow trout fishing and the home of various big game at Cave Lake State Park in Nevada; waterfalls, caves and an 18-hole golf course at Fall Creek Falls State Park in Tennessee; and freshwater swimming and hiking trails at Newfound Lake at Wellington State Park in New Hampshire.
