The largest of Chris Craft's bowriders, the 240 offers a roomy cockpit, sound performance and an impressive array of standard equipment. The 240's hull features a 22 degree deadrise and an 8 foot, 6 inch beam, which slices through the water to provide a smooth transition to planing speeds. The standard power steering is responsive and makes it practically effortless to execute quick turns and maneuver in tight channels. The boat is also comfortable to operate. Sitting in the contoured bucket helm seat feels like sitting in the driver's seat of a luxury sedan.
The fully instrumented helm has high visibility Faria analog gauges set in rich high gloss Rosewood dash panels. A two-tone color console helps to reduce glare. The helm also offers a 12v accessory outlet, illuminated switches, a Clarion Marine AM/FM/CD, an engine safety shut-off switch with a belt clip, an LCD depth finder and a Rosewood tilt steering wheel. Innovation Meets Tradition The cockpit layout was designed to make it easy for a large family -- especially one that enjoys a variety of watersports -- to move about the boat. In addition to the helm seat, there is a passenger bucket seat, a wrap-around L-shaped lounge aft and comfortable seating in the bow. The center of the cockpit has been left open, leaving passengers a straight shot as they walk from one end of the boat to the other. The fiberglass cockpit liner features a diamond pattern non-skid finish to keep those with wet feet from sliding around on deck.
A compound curved glass windshield with a satin anodized frame protects those seated in the cockpit. And grab handles and cupholders are located conveniently throughout the boat. There is plenty of storage throughout the 240, including storage compartments under the bow seats, under the port lounge, the passenger glove box, the foredeck anchor locker, the large in-floor ski/kneeboard locker and under the helm console. To keep beverages cool, an Igloo cooler stores away under the port lounge. Arguably, the 240's most welcome amenity is the enclosed head in the passenger side console. Any family with children can relate to the necessity of having a head on board.
Another feature most will find impressive on the 240 Bowrider, is the easy access to the engine. The entire rear lounge seat lifts up via the power assisted engine hatch, enabling one to easily perform routine maintenance tasks or repairs. The engine compartment is gelcoat finished, so it's easy to keep clean and it has a huge storage compartment with access to the battery.
Other standard features on the 240 include a Sunbrella Bimini top, cockpit courtesy lights, an integrated swim platform with a concealed boarding ladder and a stainless steel ski tow. Like all the models in the Chris-Craft line, the 240 is designed to resist wear and tear and to be easily maintained. The hand-laid hull is constructed using a composite of stitched fiberglass fabrics to provide multi-dimensional strength and minimal weight. The sub-floor assemblies are laminated to the top of the stringer system and the cavities are filled with closed-cell expandable foam, which ties the stringers together to quiet and strengthen the hull. All the seats are made of synthetic substrate materials that are water- and rot-resistant and high-density 40 ounce vinyl that resists stains and fading caused by UV light.

Excellent and owner said the boat has always been a lake boat. Never seen salt water or even brackish water. The hours just hit 800 but it runs perfectly. The outdrive also shows no signs of any issues. The oil in both has been changed every season with only Volvo Penta oil.

The canvases are all perfect. It has a full custom trailerable cover and also another set of covers, which consist of a separate bow and stern cover. The camper top is flawless. It really extends the boating season. It's also great for the occasional overnight as well. Obviously it also has a bimini top which is also in great shape. It's a pretty large top and offers plenty of shade for those brutally sunny days.
A few seasons ago I purchased and installed a brand new set of 18" Bennett trim tabs with indicator controls. This was by far the best $700 I have spent. The seating arrangement of the boat tends to make it lean to the port when underway with a few passengers. With the trim tabs I can perfectly level out the boat at cruising speeds. No more asking people to shift around when under way. They can smooth out 3' waves like you're cruising on glass.
Shortly after the trim tab upgrade I purchased a custom built swim platform with stainless trim and heavy duty ladder from swimplatforms.com. The stainless trim happens to match the factory trim perfectly and makes it look like the platform is OEM. It is an extremely well built platform and was $2000 well spent. The boat sits pretty high out of the water and the built in factory swim platform was very high out of the water. It was very difficult to get back onto the boat. The new platform also covered the outdrive, which posed a safety hazard when jumping off the stern. Here is the link to the site:
The boat will come with dock lines, bow and stern anchors, and over 150' of anchor rode w/ chain.
It has snap in/out carpets that are in decent shape and are very clean. I only use them when it gets a bit colder and we aren't swimming anymore. Each season they get vacuumed and pressure washed. A couple small portions of the binding is beginning to come loose and could use to be rebound. The carpet itself is perfect.

The trailer is a 2001 Shorelander dual axle trailer. It is a bunk style for the main support and rollers under the keel. It is the best of both worlds. The winch is a 2 speed style and has no issues pulling the 6000lb boat onto it in the water. The surge brakes are fully functional and work great. The trailer is actually heavier duty than the boat requires.
