Located in Boynton Beach, Florida is this Classic 1950 Century 18 Seamaid Runabout.
One of Century's most beautiful runabout designs, the Century Sea Maid is best known for its automobile styling cues and 2-tone blond and mahogany "torpedo" deck design. The steering wheel that was, dash, gauge cluster, and interior upholstery were all elements inspired by the Detroit automobile industry.
Century first featured the designs of C. Hatfield Bills with its boats and in its literature in 1947. The steering wheel, dashboard, and other elements reflect Bills' directive to bring Detroit (automotive) styling into the marketplace. A heavy mahogany dash was redone in a distinctly automotive style, with a steering wheel and instrument panel directly from automobiles.
