After decades of production, 1968 was the last year Century built wood boats. However, two years prior, Century began using fiberglass. In this example, the hull is fiberglass but the decks were constructed in the same manner as the wood boats: wood frames, bright-finished covering boards, and vinyl decks.
This is one of about 134 fiberglass 17-foot Century Resorter boats made for the 1968 model year.
The seller took meticulous care of this boat. The seller is just the second owner. The engine was upgraded to a MerCrusier 350 Magnum with 280 horsepower. The engine is mated to a Velvet Drive direct-drive transmission and is fitted with a four-blade prop. This boat will not suffer from altitude sickness in Lake Tahoe! The engine has less than 100 hours on it.
The upholstery has been redone in classic Century colors and fabric. Both the wood and the gelcoat are in excellent condition.
This 1968 Century Resorter is a unique opportunity to enjoy a classic boat with modern construction: a little bit of wood, a classic look, ride and feel, and the convenience of a fiberglass hull and a newer engine.
This Century Resorter has been completely restored and tastefully updated. The engine is a 1997 MerCruiser 350 Magnum with less than 100 hours. The boat is stored inside and, besides a bit of dust, is totally protected from the elements.
THe trailer will need to be serviced and the bunks and tires will need to be replaced.
