In 1990, Chris Smith, grandson of the Founder of Chris Craft, commissioned 24 new runabouts to be built on the now famous triple cockpit design from 1930. These were destined to be unique, not only because of their design, but also their modern power and reliability. This is Hull Number 5 !
The Triple Cockpit Classic is the epitome of the luxury and style associated with runabout boating. The clean, uncluttered dash is complemented with a banjo style steering wheel, and features the renowned etched instrument cluster.
The forward cockpits can be enclosed with a dashing Dietrich top so boaters can be out all day, regardless of the weather.
Equipped with an OMC Ford 350 ci engine, stereo, leather interior, trailer, perfect finish and waterline boat cover. This boat is in turn-key and ready to go in excellent condition. The hours are not accurate as the key was left on numerous times, owner estimates 250 hours.
The boat was built from the finest Honduran mahogany using modern technology, a no soak bottom and a beautiful finish. Much of the hardware, including windshield stanchion, winged gas cap and deck vents are still produced by the same foundry that made the original Chris-Craft hardware more than 70 years ago.
The boat won the prestigious Lake Tahoe Boat Show at one point and has been meticulously kept over the years by its proud owner. It has fresh varnish on it now, is solid throughout, structurally sound and ready for a new owner.
This is a RARE find! One that will be enjoy for many years to come! This design was retired with this limited edition and will never be built again!
