This 1964 CHRIS-CRAFT SEA SKIFF is a classic beauty!
According to the "Essential Chris Craft Guide," there were only thirty (30) hulls of these boats ever manufactured!
The overall history of this boat is a bit thin. She was located in Georgia, near Lake Lanier, when the current owner purchased her in 2018 and transported to Michigan, where she currently rests. It is unknown whether the boat ever saw saltwater or exactly how many owners she has had.
Since 2018 it is confirmed that she was only used in the freshwaters of Michigan: Higgins Lake and Grand Traverse Bay.
In July 2019, she received a series of maintenance work totaling $2,800 (records available):
1. Removed and replaced water pump impeller
2. Test run, systems checks, troubleshoot electrical
3. Replace and rewire bilge pump and switch
4. Engine compression test completed
5. Water test completed
6. Epoxy repair damaged bottom areas and sand fair
7. Sand and paint bottom (2 coats) with Pettit copper
bronze antifouling paint
The current owner has always properly winterized her and stored her indoors, uncovered so she could continue to breathe.
The seller loves the boat; however, the boat draft is an issue making her difficult to use on the lake that the current owner spends most of his time; otherwise, she would be a permanent member of the family.
The next owner is in for a treat with this classic Chris-Craft Ranger Sea Skiff!
