The 1933 Consolidated Launch "Spritzer" shares tradition and royal history.

The 1933 Consolidated Launch was built for William L. Harkeness (Standard Oil Investor) as the boarding vessel to the USS Cythera.

In 1907, William L. Harkness commissioned to build the Cynthera in Scotland as their luxury yacht. Harkeness (military family) donated the Cythera for the WWI war effort commissioned October 20, 1917 as the USS Cythera (SP-575).

After the war the vessel was returned to the Harkness Family until January 1942 with the Harkness family sold the ship back to the Navy for One Dollar. The vessel was converted to a patrol-craft.

On May 1, 1942 (first voyage) the USS Cythera departed Norfolk en-route to Pearl Harbor and not even 24 hours into the Journey was torpedoed by a German U-Boat and sank. The Cythera has not been located off the coast of North Carolina.

Prior to the current owner purchasing the Consolidated Launch the vessel was completely restored converting the forward helm station for additional seating. The Helm was moved to the cockpit for easier handling for recreational use.

The current owners, primarily use the boat for day cruising and attending sailboat races in Bayhead, New Jersey.

Advertisement is for vessel only. Trailer is not being offered for sale by POP Yachts.
