1959 GLASSPAR SEAFAIR SEDAN---ORIGINAL TWIN JOHNSON 35Hp w/ ELECTRIC START. VINTAGE STYLE w/ MODERN BOATING CONVENIENCES.
Her name is "Sweat Equity" and it shows!
This boat went through a 5-year, ground-up renovation that included removing the cabin, reglassing the spars, the bow, and then rebuilding the floor and transom.
The 1958 engines were disassembled, sandblasted, painted and complete rebuilt in 2003.
The hull has been reinforced to handle modern engines having 100+ HP, should the new owner choose.
The trailer was custom built by FE trailer with many custom features. Most important is the breakaway tongue, dual axel, quad disc brakes, piggyback receiver to attach a second trailer, rear extension so the tiedown straps never touch the hull and it's galvanized!
Exterior metal parts have been powder coated and the surfaces inside have been sprayed with a bed liner (Rhinoliner). The outside surfaces were primed 5 times and then ultimately painted and sanded 5 times with a custom light grey linear polyurethane (can't be sanded or buffed-has to be perfect) The same is true with the varnish, coated to a glass finish! It was all sprayed with an HVLP system and dried in a dust-free booth Most pieces have 30+ coats. All the rubber moldings, glass, stainless window tracks, wiring, screws, and fasteners (all screws are stainless oval head) were replaced.
The cable steering was replaced with a custom hydraulic system and the rear seat sits on a custom aluminum fuel cell (the ski pole is removable) The bilge pump is housed in a custom removable, stainless cage that is in a recessed drop-down cavity (so the water doesn't slosh around in the transom).
The interior was fabricated from scratch, the seat stands are powder coated stainless and tied in with the side panels and the rear seat makes the boat much stronger. A tweed material was used for the interior and has the Glasspar logos embroidered in key places. The entire floor has a marine-grade carpet.
The glove door was fabricated from what was left of the original cabin door it houses the stereo and has the Glasspar logo inlaid twice, inside and out (Birdseye maple) All the gages are the new Gaffrig II gages and bezels and the bimini top is housed in the top of the rear seat when not in use.
Modern conveniences include a 6 speaker stereo w/ amplifier, satellite radio, aux input for iPod or MP3 player. Garmin GPS, custom cup holders, and porta potty make a day on the water that much more relaxing.
Try finding any imperfections. The mirror-like finish of the hull is a thing of beauty.
The seller is a proud craftsman and it shows in this beautiful vessel.
Hour meter on outboard engines rea 150 hrs at as of 3/28/20
The boat is a true classic and a near new condition
