***Update May 2022***
The Top deck has just been painted with non-skid paint. (See new photos at the end of the gallery) Refinishing the surfaces in the cockpit is next.

Very rare San Francisco Bird Boat. The San Francisco Bird Boat fleet has been racing continuously on The Bay since 1922. The class is easily the oldest one-design class on the West Coast, and is among the top 5, oldest classes in the USA. This year marks the 91st anniversary of the first Bird Boat, a classic wooden sailboat specifically designed for racing on San Francisco Bay and the first one design fleet on the West Coast, while the San Francisco Perpetual Trophy, first raced on the bay in 1895, is purported to be the second oldest match-racing trophy in sailing behind only the America's Cup.

The S.F. Perpetual Cup is held in Trust by the two senior yacht clubs of San Francisco Bay -- the Corinthian Yacht Club (CYC) and the San Francisco Yacht Club (SFYC). It's a Challenge Cup, with the holder accepting a challenge annually from another yacht club. Both clubs must be on the U.S. Pacific Coast.

These are beautiful, 30 foot, classic wooden sloops. They are lovingly maintained and raced by their owners to an 82 year old, one-design measurement rule.

KIWI was the last SF Birdboat ever built.

THERE ARE ONLY 22 BIRDS LEFT!! We are looking for the right buyer to steward this classic vessel into the future. She is classic San Francisco maritime history, and is among the most cherished vessel designs on the San Francisco Bay! Step up and join a very elite club! Multiple wooden boat savior/owner very motivated to find the right sailor who appreciates this truly classic and historically significant sailing yacht.

Information On Condition

This is a very strong vessel, with a solid and tight hull and rebuilt cockpit and transom. She is the only Bird with a barrel transom. She is in need of cosmetics.

She does not leak a drop from her bottom!. Her interior has been removed and her transom and cockpit have been rebuilt.

Update August 2021: The topsides have been wooded and prepped for painting. Deck, cockpit and mast are next.
