Chandler is a city in Maricopa County, Arizona, and is a prominent suburb of the Phoenix, Arizona, Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). It is bordered to the north and west by Tempe, to the north by Mesa, to the west by Phoenix, to the south by the Gila River Indian Community, and to the east by Gilbert. From its founding, Chandler has been a community built on innovation and community. With the addition of nearly 100,000 young, educated, and affluent citizens in the last 10 years, proven workforce and a mixture of diversified industries in addition to quality retail establishments are reasons why the City of Chandler is an exciting place to live and work. Chandler boasts a strong, high tech employment base that attracts and retains high quality employees, many of whom make our community their home. Chandler was recognized for taking an innovative approach to making play a priority throughout the city with its many recreational amenities, parks and aquatic centers. It also has a lake at Veterans Oasis Park that is stocked with fish every two weeks from mid-September through June, with species including Channel catfish, Rainbow trout, Sunfish, and Largemouth bass.
