Navarre Beach on the Florida Panhandle offers a secluded, quiet beach getaway. Navarre Beach, located between the lively Pensacola and Fort Walton beaches, is a remote beach community that features dozens of beach homes, condos and vacation homes for rental, along with locally owned restaurants and shops. The Panhandle Butterfly House, located at 8543 Navarre Parkway, is the only major tourist attraction in Navarre Beach. Visitors can take a docent-guided tour of the native butterfly habitat to learn about different butterfly species and the ecosystem in Navarre and also visit the colorful flower gardens surrounding the property. Navarre Beach State Park, located at 8579 Gulf Blvd., is managed by the Florida Park Service and features a 900-foot fishing pier, camping area with 10 full hookup campsites for RVs and picnic pavilions. The park includes Gulf beachfront. The Best Western Navarre Beach is the only beachfront hotel property in the area. It offers standard room amenities and complimentary services, including continental breakfast, in-room microwave and refrigerator, and wireless Internet access. The outdoor pool at this hotel overlooks the Intracoastal Waterway. Other options for accommodations in Navarre Beach include Paradise Beach homes, Banana Beach Realty vacation homes, Southern Resorts Vacations condos and beach rentals, and Beach Rentals of Navarre vacation homes. Navarre is also home to three campgrounds. Navarre Beach Campground is located at 9201 Navarre Parkway, the Magnolia Beach Campground at 9807 Navarre Parkway, and the Emerald Beach RV Park at 8899 Navarre Parkway. There are only two casual restaurants located at Navarre Beach: Juana's Pagodas, a thatched-roof restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and Cocodrie's Restaurant, which serves Cajun-inspired cuisine for lunch and dinner. Both of these restaurants have decks overlooking the Gulf. Visitors interested in seafood and barbecue menus should head over the bridge to Navarre Parkway. The East Bay Crab House serves seafood and steaks, including a prime rib special on select nights of the week. The Rib Shack of Navarre serves specialty smoked meats and features a barbecue menu. Navarre Beach hosts a number of annual events each year, and many are held from September through December. In September tourists can enjoy events such as the Navarre Chamber Golf Tournament and the Panhandle PhunFest, held at Navarre Park. October events include the Navarre Beach Festival of Arts, Elks Oktoberfest celebration, ZOO BOO and the 5K Run for the Reef. The Northwest Florida Fair occurs in November each year. Tourists visiting in December can check out the annual zoo light display and the Christmas in the Park Navarre Parade and Event at Navarre Park.
