Oakdale, NY
Boats for Sale

Oakdale and what is now Great River, were originally inhabited by the Secatogue (aka Secatokets) tribe of native American Indians. A large portion of Oakdale was purchased by William Nicoll, on November 29, 1683 and more of it years later by Philip, Olof and Stephanus Van Cortlandt on June 1, 1703. During the American Revolution, local residents were in a constant state of alarm due to the frequent passing of British troops to and from New York City.
