Windham, Maine maintains close to 500 acres of parks and preserves. Each park, trail and preserve holds its own uniqueness, with some pretty amazing "gems" right here in our own back yard. Plenty of outdoor opportunities await every season. Windham's parks and preserves offer a wide variety of activity opportunities for just about every interest. Swimming, paddling, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, cross country skiing, skateboarding, and much more. From the abundance of high bush blueberries found at the Claman Sanctuary to the serene atmosphere found at the Donnabeth Lippman Park, these are great places to walk your dog or just sit and have lunch. Dundee Park is an ideal place for a swim when the weather gets hot. The Mountain Division Trail has a 5 mile paved trail that connects Standish, Windham, and Gorham. In Windham's 308 acre Lowell Preserve you can find some interesting porcupine caves to explore. Even when the weather turns cold, our parks and preserves are the perfect places to stay active. In the snowy winter months, the Parks and Recreation Department have snowshoes to lend, free to use so you and your family can continue being active outdoors.
