The 2012 Gold Coast 50' catamaran was purpose-built as a tour/chartering boat to cruise the waters surrounding Catalina Island, CA. As such, she has been hired for custom cruises such as Weddings, Celebration of Life Ceremonies, corporate events, film shoots, science projects, etc. Additionally, She runs regular tours in season including our Famous Flying Fish Tour and our Cocktail Cruise.
The vessel has a built-in refrigeration system and a bar. As well as many other necessary conveniences for running a tour boat.
Gold Coast Yachts custom-built the vessel with constant contact from Capt. John on design issues. Upon completion, he took delivery of the vessel at the builder's site in St. Croix. From there, the vessel drove on her own hull the 4000 nm thru the Panama Canal and up the western coast of North America to Catalina Island. The seller and captain can attest to her seaworthiness.
She cruises at 18 knots, but she has a top-end capacity of 24 knots which has been tested twice. That said, there are times when she has had to get somewhere and carries the unique ability of catamarans to get up and go without overcoming the obstacles of a planning hull.
The MPG is also astonishing on this vessel. He had 2.7 gals/hr when it made her way to the US for Croatia. Therefore, she would also be a great overnight and long voyage chartering the vessel.
She has evolved into an incredible fishing platform with a 4-scoop bait tank and a small bait well on the bow for sight casting live macs. With her two 18' outriggers, she lays out a beautiful 40' widespread of trolling lures, has very little white-water disturbance in the wake, runs flat, and gets bit.
Her deck layout allows for full walk-around fighting of the fish without obstruction and her low gunnels allow for easy tag and release or capture and harvest. In the last year, a 221lb Yellowfin Tuna (solo) was landed, two Swordfish pushing 200lbs, and numerous smaller sport fish were caught by customers.
She has an integrated Raymarine Electronics/ Navigation system including autopilot, GPS, Plotter, VHF, and Radar.
She is current with all regulating bodies/inspections including:
-The United States Coast Guard Recreation Coastwise -Endorsement
-California Department of Fish and Wildlife Passenger Recreational Fishing Vessel
-Alcoholic Beverage Commission - Liquor License on Board
-California Department of Boating and Waterways - Tour Operator
-California Public Utilities Commission - Passenger Vessel Operator
-California Cemetery and Funeral Commission - Certified Disposer of Remains License
-City of Avalon Operating Permit
Lastly, for the right person, this boat is a future. There is a robust customer base, marketing, and active seasonal touring community (June-October) on Catalina Island which can generate upwards of $300-$500k per year to the right operator.
Per the Seller: All electronic equipment Installed NEW in 2012, and in excellent working order.
A USCG compliant electrical panel to provide AC/DC power onboard at sea IN EXCELLENT WORKING ORDER.
Her propulsion system is in great shape. Although she has over 5,000 hours of operational time, most of that is at speeds near idle since the primary application has been slow cruises around the island or idling.
Therefore, the seller encourages any buyer to confirm the use pattern of the vessel by downloading the Cummins engine computer history.
