1997 Alnmeritec 42 Crew in Biloxi, Mississippi

Stock #184065

42' Crew Boat, jet drive, aluminum catamaran crew boat with space for 38 passengers and 2 crew. The vessel is fully welded aluminum alloy plate with a flush deck and a raised wheelhouse forward with 360-degree visibility. There is a second control station on the aft deck. The hull is an asymmetric catamaran with fine entry bows and a medium deadrise single chine section aft and is specifically designed for waterjet propulsion. This vessel was formerly used in the Sea Launch program to shuttle personnel between the mother ship and the Mobile Rocket Launch Platform in the open Pacific Ocean.

Propulsion is provided by two Iveco 8061 SRMR25 diesel engines rated at 270hp each. The engines have independent fuel and electrical systems and are fresh water cooled with heat exchangers. Each engine is attached to the Hamilton Model 273 jet drives by 1:1 gearboxes and cardan shafts. The jet drives allow outstanding maneuverability with vectored thrust and the ability to go from full forward to full reverse at any RPM without a mechanical gear change. Flush fitting engine hatches allow for general maintenance or removal.

The design of this vessel, combined with the jet drives, allows special capability. A combination of steering, throttle manipulation, and reversing will move this vessel sideways at about 2 mph which allows it to be held against a dock, platform, or another vessel to allow loading or unloading. It can also be backed up to a dock, platform, or vessel to load or unload from the rear. There is the ability to reverse the direction of the flow from the drive which can clear the intake grate in the event it becomes blocked by debris. The drive also has a port which can be removed while the boat is in the water. This allows debris to be removed from the jet if necessary. Finally, the lack of propellers is a significant safety factor in the event of a man overboard situation.

This vessel has twin alloy 135 gallon fuel tanks which provide fuel to the engines via primary water/particle filters and secondary particle filters. Fuel lines are drawn stainless steel including return lines and breather lines. The tanks are fully baffled internally and feature top mounted inspection plates. The vessel was configured for BP zero spill specifications to all the vessel to operate in Alaska's Prudhoe Bay drilling area or any other highly sensitive environmental area.

This vessel also has a 13 ft. wide and 12 ft long rear deck with approximately 11X11 clear that can be used for cargo if needed. There is room for three normal pallets in the center while still allowing access to the engine hatches. The rear deck is approximately 37 inches above the water. This vessel is designed for operation is shallow water, with a full fuel load the draft is 16 inches. This vessel can be operated almost anywhere.

This vessel is designed/engineered to be relocated anywhere on the planet quickly and cost effectively. This is achieved in part by built in forward and aft lifting eyes and lifting gear that is housed in special flush deck box that also contains the stern lifting eyes so stern lifting gear is always attached and stowed. Owner has boat under crane and will place on buyer's Semi trailer any time 24/7 at no cost to buyer.

Information On Condition

This vessel is in above average condition. It has been well maintained and is set up for zero spill standards. Minimal cleaning is needed. Engines & propulsion are fully operational. Passenger seats are in good condition. Vessel appears to be ready to go to work right now. Life rafts will need to be re-certified.
