1979 CAL 39 MK II Cruiser Sailboat in Miami, Florida

Stock #121700

Although located in Canada, due to Canadian regulations, this boat is not available for sale to potential buyers in Canada.

CAL 39' MKII is a highly seaworthy and comfortable blue water family cruiser.

Tall rig masthead sloop with a fin keel, reliable Perkins 4-108 50HP diesel, shallow draft of 5' 5".

This sloop is fast and nimble thanks to 719 square feet of sail area. A spade rudder is placed well aft, a Lapworth hallmark, for excellent steering control.

CAL 39 is very spacious, light and comfortable, and makes a great liveaboard. A sense of airiness is created by both an open layout below and translucent hatches and a couple of deadlights.

The large L-shaped galley to starboard of the companionway has double sinks, large lockers and nice ventilation for galley efficiency, stove/oven installation, and food and equipment stowage.

A capacious stowage space under the cockpit, with easy access, was appreciated by Cal 39 owners.

Spacious head is placed between forward and mid-cabins with door access from both sides.

With its relatively long waterline (32 feet on a 39-foot LOA), powerful hull design and generous sail plan, it will be a fast passagemaker that will be fun to sail and comfortable to live aboard offshore.

The 39's sail area/displacement ratio of 17.5 will enhance her reputation as a capable family offshore cruiser. It will sail extremely well while carrying all the gear and supplies necessary for an extended passage; 150-mile days should be commonplace.

Information On Condition

Hull appears solid and very clean. Mast, cables and running rigging are in good shape. Side railing has been removed, except for the bow and cockpit area. Sails are older but usable. Running rigging is new.

Perkins 4-108 serviced 6 months ago, new injectors, batteries, bow pulpit, stanchions, steering cables. New cabin liner.

Shaft seal needs repacking. Needs bottom paint. The fridge does not work.
