1978 Cape Dory is a great single-handled sailboat.
If you're looking for a small cruiser with offshore cruising potential and classic style, then the Cape Dory 28 may just be the perfect fit for you and your family and friends.

Full-length keel and a well-proportioned cabin. The bow and stern are nicely balanced and overhangs are a bit shorter, relative to the overall length, than Alborg's earlier designs.
The foredeck is large enough for sail handling and ground tackle, side decks wide enough for safe passage and the cockpit is roomy.
The cabin has a V-berth forward with fill-in to make it a double berth and the port side settee pulls out to a double and the starboard is a single to sleep 5.
Most 28s had tiller steering although this boat was changed to a wheel prior to the current ownership.
The head is a composting natures head the holding tank was taken out. Adjacent is a starboard hanging locker.
In the galley, you will find an alcohol stove to port and a sink and ice box to starboard. Two opening deck hatches and eight opening bronze ports will provide great ventilation and natural sunlight.
Seller has just refinished all the teak on the boat trim.
The current owner has had the boat for about 7 months. The owner mentioned the boat has a newer main sail and a newer head sail by North Sails.
The boat used to have a tiller and now has a wheel on the helm. The seller mentioned he still has the tiller if wanted.
