This Downeaster Cutter Cruiser has been owned and operated by a USCG licensed Captain for 11 years and has been significantly restored/upgraded over the past 18 months. This vessel sails beautifully and is designed for 15 to 20 knots of wind; she is a sturdy and spacious ship and can be sailed without crew.
Repowered with Yanmar 3JH40 Common Rail diesel engine (40 HP). Transmission, shaft, cutlass bearing and prop (pitch adjusted to the engine), engine controls and monitoring, raw water strainer and secondary fuel filter were replaced.
Five sails are included in the boat sale. All in very good condition with great shape, the owner confirms. One main, a storm Main, 101% Genoa (furling system 2012), 85% Jib (altered for furling), and a Stay Sail (furling system 2022); all sails have been maintained, the main sail was fully battened in 2021.
The seller states things not working are quickly taken care of and systems are working.
The list of maintenance, upgrades, and improvements is extensive and will be made available to seriously interested parties by email.
Among them are the electrical system has been rewired (2022); new panels, consolidation and removal of old wiring systems; wiring brought up to maritime code.
New cabin lights and wiring (2021).
