1984 Hans Christian 33T Cruiser Sailboat in Cornelius, North Carolina

Stock #145067

Lovingly handcrafted by the legendary skilled craftsman of the renowned Hansa yard in Taiwan, using only the finest materials in their construction, the Hans Christian 33T is one of the sturdiest ocean-going vessels ever built.

This is Hull # 59 of 155 produced!

Her one-piece hull is hand-laid with 24 layers of mat and roving. The deck and hull are fastened and bonded twice, once under the raised bulwarks and again under the teak cap rail. Instead of screwing the decks down from above, Hansa screwed them from underneath, eliminating the thousands of screw bungs in the deck that have a reputation for causing wet decks.

Stanchion bases and cleats are mounted on the bulwarks, while winches and grab rail bases are raised to prevent standing water from working its way below them to the deck core below.

One side benefit of this design is nice, wide open decks that are kind to bare feet! The ballast is fully encapsulated. Her keel has a cutaway forefoot and a rear aperture protecting the prop.

The design goals of Harwood Ives were met with the ability to go to weather as well as track downwind. There is high initial stability for comfort under sail and a kindly motion at sea.

Lateral plane and ballast displacement ratios are high, so sailing with the rail down is extremely rare.

As a liveaboard, a recreational cruiser or for extended passage making, her interior accommodations are well suited to the task. This Hans Christian is a well equipped, well thought out blue water cruiser, taking you in comfort anywhere in the world.

Below decks, she is a home at sea, with the feel and features of a much larger sailing yacht and an extremely well-designed use of the interior space.

* Headroom = 6'3"
* Bronze ports - 10
* Dorade Vents = 6
* Overhead Hatches = 2
* Rich teak appointments

Forward chain locker is accessed from behind the head. The teak seat cover that folds down over the head when not in use, allowing you to use it as a dressing seat.

To port of the head is a linen locker, while continuing aft to starboard is the marble countertop with a sink and medicine cabinet behind it, with additional storage below.

Across to port is a walk in 6' 3'' high shower, with teak seat and towel bar, tile surround beneath the seat and a teak grate over the GRP shower pan.

Continuing aft, you enter the master stateroom. To starboard, there is a very spacious double-door locker, split with hanging storage aft and shelves forward. A shelf and port light are above this, while across to port is the master berth.

A gracious curved entry makes this space quite inviting and warm, while below it you find six drawers and two louvered doors for storage.

Additional storage in large dry bins completes the balance of the space below the berth. A shelf lines the foot of the bed and two opening ports and a dorade vent provide ventilation to the cabin. This area can be closed off by a bi-fold door from the salon.

The Owner has taken great care and pride of this vessel. See the features & specs for more information.

She is currently moored in fresh water.
