1979 Hunter 33 Cruiser Sailboat in Oakland, California

Stock #192647

This 1979 Hunter 33 is the perfect boat for someone who is new to sailing who wants to develop their skills in both sailing and taking care of a boat without spending a lot of money before buying the right boat for them.

Why is this Hunter great for a new sailor? First, it is inexpensive and it won't lose much if any value because it has already depreciated to the maximum for its current condition. Second, this Hunter has all the systems that bigger boats have that one can use, maintain and learn about. Third, there is a great sail inventory including storm sails, multiple spinnakers, etc, and this will allow you to get practice using all the sails one will need to know how to use out on the water.

Up above, you have a roomier cockpit than one finds on most 30-33 foot sailboats from the 70s and 80s.

Down below, there is a v-berth up front, a settee on both the port and starboard sides with an ingenious table that folks down either for one person or a bigger group of people to eat at. Aft of the settees one finds the galley and a quarterberth on the port side and a head with a shower on the starboard side.

Come take a look at this Hunter 33 and see if it is the right boat for you to improve all aspects of your sailing skills.

Information On Condition

We're told. other than the depth finder, everything on this Hunter including the autopilot, heater, engine, stove and other systems work. The sails appear to be in good condition. The standing rigging was reported to have been replaced in the 1990s.

It's an older sailboat, but in good condition for its age and more importantly, it is in good working condition and ready to sail for the day or for a week trip cruising.
