1986 Hunter 45 Legend For Sale

Stunning 1986 Hunter Legend 45 that has undergone an extensive refit under the current owner. Virtually every system on this boat has been re-worked and is in excellent condition.

The Hunter 45 is considered a cruiser racer and that is a well deserved appellation. She was the fastest cruiser of her class in the day and is still capable of very fast passages. Fit for extended cruises or use as a liveaboard. All will be wonderfully comfortable in her spacious and bright interior.

With 3 cabins and 2 heads below, there is space for your whole crew. Numerous opening hatches and ports provide wonderful light and ventilation while oscillating fans are mounted strategically to augment. Ceiling heights of over 6' 8 in the main salon and forward cabin add to the overall sense of openness while below.

A master cabin is forward with an ensuite head and shower. The forward cabin has a queen berth to starboard with a seat and desk/dressing table to port.

The main salon has an expandable table that will seat 8 for dinner. The starboard settee can be converted to a double berth while the port settee will sleep a single. Voluminous storage is available under and behind the settees as well as outboard above. All cushions throughout the cabin have been replaced with new cushions and new coverings.

Aft to port is a full nav station with instrumentation and storage for charts and additional gear. Opposite is a full L-shaped galley. A double sink is located on centerline with a new hot water heater below. There is a freezer and a refrigerated locker.

Further aft, the galley has a new stove with oven and a microwave. New propane tanks and a new regulation storage box have been installed. There is a large amount of counter space as well as storage over, under and outboard throughout the galley.

Further aft there is a full enclosed head to port with a shower as well as a full aft cabin to starboard. The cabin has numerous opening ports providing good ventilation as well as drawers and storage throughout.

The topsides are a serious sailing center. The cockpit provides secure seating and easy access to all sail handling requirements. All lines are led aft to cabin top clutches, numerous self-tailing winches are arranged to control all sheets and there is an electric winch to handle raising and lowering the mainsail.

There are 2 windlasses for handling ground tackle - an electric vertical one mounted on the deck (with foot controls) as well as a backup manual one located in the anchor well. A large plow anchor is mounted at the bow and the boat is equipped with 250' of anchor chain.
