1981 Pearson P40 Cruiser Sailboat in Honolulu, Hawaii

Stock #120054

The Pearson P40 is an intriguing boat. It is comfortable and offshore capable and yet the centerboard design allows for gunkholing in the thinnest of waters. It is an ideal boat for any cruising grounds.

With just 300 hours on the Perkins 38 HP engine, which was rebuilt and installed in 2010, this beautiful and well-maintained boat is priced below market value and is a terrific find for any serious or leisure sailor. It is not common for used P40s to linger on the market very long.

The current owners love that she has the space of a cruiser yet performs like a racer. She points to the wind and with the centerboard keel you can get close to shore. The ballast is more than 50% of the overall displacement which makes her a safe blue water cruiser, yet her hull design allows you to reef all sails and still make good headway, putting less strain on the rig!

Pearson broke the mold with the P40 design. William Shaw was the designer, and he lavished attention on her.

All the interior has been upgraded compared to most Pearsons. The rich wood and extra features inside the cabin make storing belongings easy.

This is one of the most meticulously well cared for vessels you will find anywhere, especially in Hawaii!
