This Robert H. Perry design was commissioned and built at the famous Ta Shing boatyard for Seattle-based Flying Dutchman International who successfully produced the BABA 30 Bluewater cruiser.
Featuring a 5,000 lb full keel, upgraded aluminum mast and a Monocoque fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) laminate hull with plank lines that give the effect of a wooden hull. To this day, the Baba 30 is still considered one of the finest and highly sought-after blue water cruisers.
A great sailing boat that is cutter rigged.
The entire cabin is lined with excellently maintained teak. It features a V-berth and 2 settee berths, and starboard aft berth; accommodates sleeping for 5. Ambient interior light with the opening bronze ports with a teak butterfly skylight in the salon provides plenty of light and ventilation.
The galley has a deep double sink, 2-burner stove/ oven, and large ice box.
The navigation station is located starboard side and includes a VHF radio and 12V power.
The aft cockpit has ample room for captain and crew with a compass, helm wheel and engine controls. There is a tiller for emergency steering or if you want to sail her by hand.
The Yanmar diesel engine is the preferred powerplant for the Baba 30, considered a reliable, low-maintenance motor with a cruising speed of 6 knots and a range of 900 miles.
Rigging includes a roller furling jib and full-batten main along with a staysail and spinnaker. Self-tailing winches, main sheet traveler and lifelines ready it for any adventure.
FRP with cored decks and cabin top, teak overlay on decks, cabin top and cockpit seating. The deck is covered in teak and provides the surest grip available. Rails surround the vessel and the bow pulpit houses the easily deployable anchor to hold up in your favorite cove.
The vessel appears well cared for. Newer aluminum fuel tank. The cabin teak is in good condition throughout, some screw bungs missing.
The teak deck has one more life and can be sanded to bring it back.
Dacron main sail and genoa are 2014. A secondary main sail is included. The main sail cover needs a zipper replaced.
