Livability is a good term to describe the design. The Irwin 37 is a coastal cruiser for two couples or a family of four. The vessel has a very practical aft cabin layout seen on a sailing vessel under 40ft.
The layout has remained essentially unchanged since the 37 was introduced and features a spacious aft cabin, a step-down galley, a more-than-adequate walk-through passageway, and a forward cabin that should not make its occupants feel like they are in steerage.
