1984 Kadey-Krogen 38 Cutter Sailboat in Portland, Connecticut

Stock #123217

This is your chance to own one of the 80 fixed keel Kadey-Krogen 38 Cutters. Take a look at this Kadey-Krogen on land before she sets sail on May 22, 2018. Save yourself some $ by having her surveyed on land before she goes in the water.

Her beautiful sleek lines make her a spectacular sight with traditional appeal.

The Captain/Owner has been to Bermuda several times, as well as sailing in the Cheesepeek Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean, mostly blue water sailing.

The current owner has focused on ensuring the utmost safety at sea during the past 10 years he has owned her including the addition of a 6 person life raft, radar, and other standard safety equipment.

Cosmetically, her woodwork could benefit from fresh oil and polishing. She is ready to sail as-is, however, and you can polish the woodwork on your way to Bermuda or wherever your heart desires.

She is easy to sail alone but also has two private staterooms if you want some company along.

Her cockpit is wide and spacious, making it easy to move about. Below decks, she sports a workable galley area complete with microwave, oven, fridge/freezer, a full sink, plus lots of counter space.

The main salon is inviting and very comfortable, with seating arranged with families in mind.

The heater in the salon will keep you warm on cold evenings. She is piped for air conditioning but currently does not have a unit installed.

The mid-cabin Master stateroom is bright and spacious, with lots of cupboards, drawers, and places to hang clothes. There is also a vanity with sink and counter space.

Forward is a nice sized v-berth, again with lots of storage.

The head is fully equipped with a vanity and wash basin including a shower stall.

The engines are original; they were rebuilt in 2016, with only 47 hours.

A WORD FROM HER OWNER

Description: The Kadey Krogen 38 is a well designed and built cutter. I am in the Merchant Marines and would often rather be on a Krogen 38 when in a storm than a large merchant ship.

The Yellow Rose is the full keel version of the Krogen 38 and is a true blue water cruiser.

I have sailed her from Georgia to Maine and Bermuda to Cape Code and have enjoyed every sea mile. I, as well as previous owners, have lived aboard the Yellow Rose in both hot and cold climates and have always been comfortable.
