We are proud to label this boat sold. Lumberton, NC!
The hull is 1984 but this Mako went through a refit in 2009. This Mako has a singular mission- to get offshore quickly and safely to get to the fishing grounds where the serious fish can be caught. Specialty- shark.
The hull type is modified vee, planning type, with a flared bow, hard chines and round bottom.
Powered with twin Yamaha 250 four strokes with 900 hours, the boat runs like a top this season. Cruising between 25-30 knots, it will top out at 40 knots.
The rod storage accommodates 35, yes 35, rods between rocket launchers, in-gunnel holders, 4 Lee O swivels and plenty of racks both above and below decks. The Lee 18 foot outriggers and a center rigger are included. Did I tell you this boat lives to fish?
If you like those feeding times before sunrise or after sunset, the cockpit has 4 LED under gunnel lights, blue LED cabinet/compartment lights and 4 front and side Halogen lights.
The twin Yamaha's are mounted on an extended gill bracket off the transom lending even more unobstructed space to the cockpit.
Add to this the extensive electronics package and you will find the Honda generator EU1000 can handle the power drain when offshore. It connects to the shore power receptacle for offshore capability. This generator is mounted on the hardtop. The 2 crank batteries are isolated from any other power draws. There are two dedicated house batteries.
The cockpit has abundant, unobstructed space to work the multiple rods. There is also plenty of seating for the crew (or charter clients) undercover forward of the dual consoles. The upholstery here is near new and shows bright white.
Morse controls at the helm has separate lever throttle and transmission, not binnacle controls.
There is also a well thought out bait station to port in the cockpit with bait well, cutting board and sink above tackle storage drawers and cabinets. Two long, insulated fish boxes built into the cockpit sole run along both port and starboard sides.
You enter to the cuddy cabin through a companionway of double folding doors and a sliding hatch. The vee berth and space below has more rod holders and plenty of clean space. The upholstery is clean with no mildew, rips or blown seam in very good condition.
Ground tackle utilizes a Lewmar Profish Windlass, 300' of rode and 20' of chain attached to a plow anchor.
Being rebuilt in 2009 with up to date electronics and 2005 Yamaha's, this boat does not appear to be constructed in 1984. There is some minor dock rash, but nothing major needing attention, including the bottom. The teak gunnel tops shine. All canvas, isinglass is in great shape with no signs of UV damage or blown seams or zippers.
