The Sea Ray 240 Sundancer is a great starter boat for a small family, and thanks to being of legal width for highway towing without a permit, offering the capability to experiment with different styles of boating, from close coastal cruising to inland lakes and waterways.
Further, the heavier build of this boat, averaging three to six hundred pounds more fiberglass in construction than lesser brands of the same size, gives a smoother and more confident ride at higher speeds in rougher water. The boat will be able to handle any conditions a sensible captain would encounter, and in some cases perhaps save the senseless ones from perishing as well.
The cockpit is roomy with a vanity sink and plenty of seating, a bench for two or three astern and a pair of angled buckets in an open settee arrangement to port, as well as a bench for the captain and companion at the helm.
At the helm is a modern, ergonomic set of high-contrast engine instruments, full controls including trim tabs, GPS navigation as well as good all-around visibility.
Down below the cabin has a convertible dinette/berth forward and full-sized mid-cabin berth aft, as well as a full galley and head with shower and vacu-flush marine toilet. All in the climate-controlled comfort of reverse-cycle air conditioning.
