I made contact with Tom Leiper a yacht broker from CT. I have purchased and sold several large vessels in my lifetime and as such have worked with several yacht brokers. My first experience was purchasing a sloop when I was just 18 years old and now at 61 years old, I have met quite a few brokers during my search for a boat. I met Tom as a buyer on one of his listings on a 43ft Hatteras. Unfortunately that boat was not a good fit for my wife and I but had I not contacted Tom, I doubt another broker would have steered me away to find a more appropriate vessel. Tom first of all, is honest and driven to do what is right and not what produces a pay check. Secondly Tom has a vast knowledge of the marine industry from a lifetime of working around both sail and power boats. Tom was like having my best buddy show my wife and I boats and explain listings. Honestly, who does that? Who puts the buyer first anymore? Tom is old school nice guy and it is difficult to explain how you feel safe when Tom protects you from making a mistake or doing something stupid. I rarely take the time to write reviews, but after my experience with Tom on our latest purchase I wanted to share my wonderful experience because it is so rare to work with such a nice guy that has the answers or will find the answers for you. So whether you're a Buyer or Seller you need to place trust in this person and Tom is a person with high integrity you can trust who will help you through the entire process.
