1976 Cigarette Sportfisher For Sale

This 1976 CIGARETTE SPORTFISHER is a fantastic open sport fisherman boat that does it all!

This model is identical to the 28-foot model owned and driven by the former president George H. W Bush at his summer home in Kennebunkport, Maine.

This open sport fisherman model has the helm midship with a huge open forward area for friends, kids, fishing, and lounging. This forward space was originally designed for fishing, but features customized seating for eight (8) adults in what feels like a sailboat cockpit seating.

This boat is a fun boat to drive! She is extremely responsive and tops out close to 45 mph and runs very easily at a cruise speed of 30 mph.

The boat hails from Cape Cod, MA and was used for 10+ years in Buzzards Bay, famous for its SW wind and chop.

She is currently owned by an experienced and knowledgeable boater who previously owned a 1972 Cigarette. This boat was purchased in 2000 to obtain the same hull as the1972 but made specifically for V-8's.

Per the owner, upon purchase, extensive work was completed including a new transom, reinforced stringers, new gel coat, etc. The boat was re-launched in 2002 and used seasonally through 2016; the boat has been shrink wrapped on the hard since 2016. The hull was painted in 2015.

As of December 2016 the port engine had 541 hours and the starboard engine had 529 hours.

Engine one - fuel system was removed for cleaning and fuel injectors were sent out and tested/cleaned. The fuel system only needs to be installed and tested.

Engine two - Ran without problems in 2016, and professionally winterized in fall of 2016.

In addition, the owner reports that at the close of the season 2016, the current owner opened the boat floor for routine inspection of the fuel tanks and discovered that the tanks showed defects and need to be replaced.

The owner had all the fuel removed, so the tanks are ready to be removed and replaced.

The owner reports that at that time everything else was in working order when the boat was decommissioned; the boat will need to be properly recommissioned in the usual manner after decommissioning for winter storage.

There is NO TRAILER included with this boat.

The boat has been shrink-wrapped and sitting on the hard since 2016, at the time of boat being winterized and stored, the fuel tanks were discovered to have defects and have to be replaced; all the fuel has been drained appropriately for next owner to be able to proceed with removing and replacing them.

All other electronics/systems were in working order at the time the boat was winterized and put into storage in 2016.
