The current owner purchased this custom aluminum hull boat in 1997. He lived on-board for several years. He reports the boat to be very comfortable, and that it travels very well. Ultra stable, and super easy to handle.
In 2004, he hired a surveyor for insurance purposes. At that time, the boat was pulled from the water and new outdrive housings were installed, the hull was repainted, and the bathroom was upgraded.
Later in 2009, the kitchen was remodeled and appliances upgraded. It has a full size oven, stove, and refrigerator. There is also a washer-dryer KENMORE stackable unit.
Seller believes this boat to be the exact boat which BEACHAM and partner Hargrove ran a race from Miami to Nassau. It is also believed that the Governor of Nassau commissioned Beacham and Hargrove to build him a new boat.
Twin D636TA engines, diesel power, manufactured by BMW, are reported to operate flawlessly. There are no know engine issues.
The heavy built aluminum hull and transom is constructed of 3/8" thick alloy. The decks are all " aluminum alloy.
Amenities include a washer/dryer, dingy with cradle, and canvases.
There is a serviceable COLEMAN roof-mount air conditioning system that performs well.
The airy cabins and control rooms have large opening window on the cabin sides. The layout is open, and really feels like home.
You would definitely rate this BEACHAM CUSTOM as "above average" and upon inspection, probably fall in love with it. It is a comfortable and serviceable boat with loads of family enjoyment potential!

You won't see many like this Beachem Lazy Days Custom. From its twin 180HP BMW engines (of which only 400 were sent to the US) to the max speed of 16mph, this unique houseboat is both versatile and comfortable. It's obviously used well as a live-aboard in every sense of the word. In addition to the stateroom, it has a pullout sofa. There is plenty of storage inside the cabin. It has a solid, thick aluminum hull. For the first 11 yrs, this boat was registered as a research vessel under no one's name.This custom houseboat appears in good mechanical condition. Its main fuel tank holds 350 gal, and its auxilliary tank (which is currently disconnected due to a leak) holds 400 gal.
The wood on the roof underneath the outer protection deck is partially rotted and needs to be replaced. This will show up on a survey.
