You gotta see this amazing Houseboat Yacht!

The Manufacturer's history: "Pluckebaum Custom Boats traces it's rooted to 1932 when founder Arthur Pluckebaum and his brother built a 22' runabout. Arthur Pluckebaum was asked to serve his country during World War II because of his unique ability to weld aluminum. built the first Pluckebaum houseboat, a craft of steel hull and wood superstructure, that would ultimately be the beginnings of Pluckebaum Custom Boats. During the years, over 600 Pluckebaum boats have been produced and Arthur has many innovations to his credit.

Today, son Dennis Pluckebaum is in charge of the firm and continues his father's tradition of custom, all aluminum coastal cruisers and motor yachts up to 78'"**reprinted from www.Pluckebaum.com

From the Captain:

Original Build
The Dove Song was originally built in 1978 by (Arther Pluckebaum) owner of Pluckebaum Custom Yachts Mfg. facility, a family owned business, now owned and operated by his son, Dennis. A great guy, by the way, not to mention his extensive, life long accumulation of boat building knowledge. After building hundreds of these all aluminum large yachts, he really knows how to do it right. Dennis is quoted as saying a new replacement yacht of this quality would approximate $1.2 to 1.3 million.

Forever Yachts
These yachts are lifelong aluminum hulls, heavy aluminum framing, aluminum hull, gunnels, walls and roof as well as being a very structurally sound vessel. After 41 years this vessel appears to be in near new condition. Beginning with a solid hull and superstructure the renovation was started in the fall of 2014.

Custom Admirals / Captains Chair
At the helm is a custom designed Captains seat built for two. Admiral Sharon said she wanted to spend a lot of time traveling and conversing with the captain. She said ,"I want to see and explore were we are going too!" Alas! Working with a designer, a soft, comfortable couch for two came to life. Raised to good navigation height with a comfortable foot rest, it is a joy to be the pilot with a buddy. Now, Admiral Sharon and Capt. Arlis share the helm piloting, navigation and sight seeing together. A fantastic addition, there are two very large drawers built under the helm seat. One serves as a chart storage. The other serves as a tool drawer. The rear of the couch is a mount for the 55 inch hugh TV.

Child Friendly Boat and Stateroom
Down the stairway beneath the salon is a child friendly (or crew friendly) stateroom with a private head and sink area. This stateroom contains two double beds with lots of play room and drawers and hanging cabinet. Our kids and grandkids love it. It is a favorite place to play. Lots of fun spots and hideouts and deck sports inside and ouit. This area can also be used as a crews quarters if needed

Chef Friendly Galley
Admiral Sharon has certainly enjoyed the roomy galley while preparing those demanding meals of the other hungry sailors of all ages. Full size appliances include stainless double sink at the window, the 30" flat (easy to clean) stovetop and large oven and large microwave with ample lighting, vent fan, large refrigerator w/icemaker, trash compactor, small countertop oven. Long, spacious countertops on both sides of the large galley. A full size trash compactor and a 40 pound per day built in ice maker. The dinning area table allows seating for teo at each side and two on the curved end for up to six people. Oh! Please add the new deep chest freezer in the galley for easy access for the chef. (less trips to the grocery....)

TWO - Guest Friendly Boat and Staterooms
In the bow and in the stern of this boat is are entire suites. Each with a full bath and drawers, closets and private full bath.
The bow suite has an independent heat pump for air conditioning and heating. A custom built queen bed with large storage drawers below and a duplex 110 volt duplex outlets on each side. A full shower, new head, lots of drawers and a full width closet with sliding doors. A new wood grained vinyl floor has been installed in the head. windows are lined with Honeycombed insulated dark window shades. On port side there ias a curved, lighted, ascending stairway to the helm area. Any owner or guest will enjoy this cozy, comfortable sleeping quarters.

Admiral Sharon opted to use the stern stateroom (closer to the galley) because she like the open view presented by the large expanse of windows and the sliding glass door to the rear (coffee -happy hour) deck. A commercial teak folding partition that closes between the stateroom and the galley provide total privacy. This stateroom also has a custom built bed with large storage drawers below and duplex 110 volt duplex outlets on each side. New wood grained vinyl floor has been installed in the head. Again, The windows a lined with Honeycombed insulated dark window shades that allow for that after noon nap or late sleep in.

Again, any owner or guest will enjoy this cozy, comfortable sleeping quarters.
Your guest will find either stateroom as guest friendly and comfortable with lots of spacious room.

Honeycombed dark window easy operate pull shades are installed throughout the boat. At a cost of over $8K.

Propulsion Running Gear & Controls
Plans for this important renovation was to do it right. This included installing new Cummins diesel engines, alone with new transmissions, shafts, bearings and new bronze props and electronic control system. The entire propulsion system was updated with the newest, smoothest electronic systems available. The new electron controls were installed at both the helm and flybridge.

Engineering & New Engines. Work Only by Original Builder
Of course.... the original builder, Pluckebaum Custom Yacht Mfg. facility was chosen for the propulsion train, underwater gear and generator, engineering, installation and testing of all, including the dual station electronic controls work. Dennis Pluckebaum was given one main request of alteration. Simply put I wanted to cruise at 10 MPH (rivers use statute miles not knots) at of rated engine RPM. For the most efficient fuel consumption and engine longevity. Dennis worked hard with the Cummins engineers to accomplish this.

Success Warranted by Cummins Diesel Mfg
The Cummins engineers required that they review and certify the entire installation of new engines and two new generators, including torqueing, testing, performance and sea trials prior to them issuing warranties on this hundreds of thousands of dollars of new equipment. Engineering and sea trials proved a great success. Trials were recorded at 11 MPH at of rated engine RPM. That was close enough for me. We believe we had less than her 900 gallon fuel capacity onboard during the sea trial which gave a little more get up an go. At 10 - 11 MPH she ran very quietly, smoothly and responded to controls like a charm. The two ginneys were given the Cummins blessing and warrant also.

Tens of Thousands in Additional Updating.
A great deal of additional updating was completed in 2015 & 2016. The hull length is 75 ft. but a few overall feet were added. The Pluckebaum Mfg. facility added two anchor davits on the bow and a combination tender lift / swimming platform on the stern. This adds about six feet to the OA Length or about 81 ft. total.
The two Dansforth anchors stay on the davits for quick service. The port anchor with 200 feet of nylon line is controlled by the New 2500 lb. pull, combination electric gypsy / windlass. The starboard anchor with 200 feet of galvanized chain is controlled by the same combination gypsy / windlass. The electric combination gypsy / windlass is dual controlled by on deck and lower helm, up-down switches.

Documents and Receipts for most work is available for you review.
An Internet Positive Boat History is available for your review.

Additional Updating - Tender Lift & Swimming Platform
This is a combination lift unit that can serve alternately as needed. This lift is a 4ft. by 8ft. platform controlled by remote electric winches each rated at 500 pounds to lift a 1000 pound tender. The platform can be lowered about 18 inches underwater to float the tender off, then used at that level or raised to any desired level for swimming from 18 inches underwater to water level to dock level or higher.

MORE - Updating - Aft Deck Isingglass enclosure
An aft deck marine isingglass enclosure has been installed with rear, port & starboard zippered doors (to the exterior) that adds more usable / shaded / living space outside on inclement or windy days. The doors and all panels open and roll to the ceiling where they can be secured for a total open air on the warm sunny days on the water and can be air conditioned by opening the stern sliding door..

Additional Updating - Flybridge Bimini
A flybridge marine Bimini (Collapsible) has been added to provide that much needed protection from the sun on those extra hot, sunny days and dew showering during the night watch.

Additional Updating - Top Mid-ship Bimini
A large (Approx. 14ft.X 20ft) mid-ship marine Bimini (Collapsible) has been added to provide shade when desired during the day and dew free during happy hour.

More Updating - Large Aluminum Table / Storage Cabinet
Topside is an 8ft. x 4ft. custom designed table that will seat four on each side and two on each end to seat 10. This table uses the standard deck chairs onboard and is great for those grandkids or business meetings. The table top has two waterproof, hinged lids that raise for access to two large storage compartments beneath the table.

Additional Updating - Custom Boarding Stairway
A custom sturdy, aluminum, four stairs, diamond plate steps with sturdy handrails and top landing area is provided for easy boarding of your guests and children. These are light-weight and easily moved or put aboard for that next port by two people.

There is More - Two Custom Built Storage cabinets.
Topside are 2@ 8ft. x 2ft. custom designed, heavy duty aluminum cabinets that also serve as seating benches. Each has a venting floor to keep contents fresh and hinged waterproof lids. These are excellent to keep the clutter off your decks. The one to port has a lot of storage as well as contains the inverter and battery bank. The cabinet to starboard to for total storage.

Oh! YES - About that Inverter.
The inverter is wonderful for when you want total quiet time. No motors or generators running, or sleepy time. When the inverter senses no other power supply (shore or genny electric) it automatically shifts to the inverter and battery system. The inverter is designed to operate only certain things or appliances that may need operating during quiet or sleep time. i.e. no range, water heater, air conditioning, washer/dryer etc. Here is what it is set up to do. Operate minimal 110 volt needs such as minimal lighting, (ice maker and refrigerator full time), morning coffee pot, 55" TV, and microwave. Experience has proven that the inverter system will provide these items for 12 to 16 hours pending amount of energy consumed from the batteries. Start a generator or plug into shore power and the inverter automatically shifts to the new power supply and automatically starts recharging the inverter batteries for tonight's needs. WONDERFUL MAGIC!

Another thought - Shore Power Isolator
I believe we forgot to mention this item in the brokers listing. An added bonus. A shore power isolator uses a large heavy transformer to separate shore power coming aboard from the shore power being delivered to the vessel. This may be a little technical but it is a lifesaver aboard any metal boat. This is designed to prevent electrolysis and save the metal hull from such damage.

While Talking About Electrolisis
While the original builder provided the expertise to install the new engines. Other work like electrical custom furniture, cabinets, lighting fixtures and more was provided by a long time friend and General Contractor also a licensed Electrician, Rock Mills Contracting Co.. This company is known for professional workmanship and quality finished products. Several times during the years of updating the Dove Song, she was tested for potential electrolysis issues. Dennis Pluckebaum had installed 12 large sacrificial zinc anodes on the hull exterior when doing the engine work. Subsequent testing found the current flow in milliamps equal to about 10% of the acceptable range.

More Updating - The Electrical Systems
Rock Mills Contracting Co. (also Licensed electrician) installed a new 110 / 220 volt distribution and breaker panel and renewed most electrical wiring as needed.
The DIFFERENT Systems:
Volt 12
Lighting exists throughout the living quarters. Starts the Main and generator engines, operated the engine controls, windless/gypsy, swimming platform,/tender lift, 6 bilge pumps etc. AM/FM/Sirius radio, Marine radio w/search & Hailer with switchable talk back speakers on bow, radar arch and stern. Engine and generator meters, Bow and Stern sounders with alarms, windshield wiper etc.

24 Volts
Controls the powerful bow thruster controlled at helm with a joy stick. Just lean the joy stick the direction you want the bow to move.

110 Volt Shore power (100 AMP.)
Operates the top-deck 1000 pd. capacity davit, galley ice maker, Clothes washing machine, (See dryer - under 220V) 55" TV in salon, Full size refrigerator/freezer/ice maker, chest large freezer, trash compactor, Toaster oven, Full size 36" range with oven, microwave, lighting throughout the living quarters. Search/Spotlight, 6@ flood lights, battery chargers, head vent fans, engine room lights, lights in all below deck compartments including chain locker etc.

220 Volt Shore power
Operates 2@ air conditioners and heat strips, galley range, clothes dryer. (See washer - under 110V)

9 KW Marine Generator
Operates same equipment and appliances listed under both "shore power" above. Overload is controlled by monitoring two amp meters at generator control panel.

20 KW Marine Generator
Same as 9 KW Generator.

110 Volt Inverter power.(when on)
Operates minimum lighting throughout, 55" TV, ice maker and refrigerator, fans, morning coffee pot, 55" TV, and microwave. See more detail above at "Oh! YES - About that Inverter."

There is more - Two Fresh Water Systems
Fresh water is taken aboard on either port or starboard gunnels to load 600 gallons in two 300 gallon tanks. A full service 12 volt pump supplies all fresh water outlets throughout the vessel including the two ice makers. A switch at the galley sink and a water level gauge controls this 12 volt system when110volts is not being supplied. A second water system: A full service 110 volt pump supplies all fresh water outlets throughout the vessel including the two ice makers. This system is always on unless 110volt is not being supplied.

Beaching Shoe
The area of the bow and keel that touches bottom when beaching has a double plated protection shoe. This reinforced area provides the added protection, safety and wear induced when beaching. This is a new improvement to this yacht.
