This 1981 Endeavour E40 has been a "boat dock queen" for a number of years. The current owner lived aboard it for 4 years and it sat at a private dock for 10 years in Palm Coast before that. The previous owners lived on it for 15 years before that. She has the potential to be a beautiful boat again,...more

This 1981 Endeavour E40 has been a "boat dock queen" for a number of years. The current owner lived aboard it for 4 years and it sat at a private dock for 10 years in Palm Coast before that. The previous owners lived on it for 15 years before that. She has the potential to be a beautiful boat again, but she needs plenty of deferred maintenance done to it.
She is powered by a Perkins 65HP diesel engine. The hour meter shows 2744 hours but the engine has not run in approximately 2 years. When last used the engine ran fine but there was a clogged raw water filter that caused it to overheat.
There is a Northern Lights diesel generator that shows 933.9 hours on the meter. The owner states that the injectors were rebuilt but that it needs the injector return lines replaced.
There are a number of additional mechanical/operations features and systems that are present but that the working condition can not be verified and needs to be evaluated. These include (but are not limited to):
- PowerSurvivor water maker
- King air conditioning
- COMBI Autohelm 5000
- solar panel power generation
- wind generator
- in-counter refrigeration
- 3 burner range/stove
- rear head.
This Endeavor is a solid constructed sailboat that has 2 staterooms and two heads. The salon is spacious and has 2 settees. There is also a removable table that is included. The galley is well laid out as well.
This would make a great liveaboard or set sail for a change of lifestyle.
Above deck the center cockpit design is comfortable and spacious and has the frame for a cockpit enclosure, however, there is no canvas. Additionally, the cockpit cushions are in need of reupholstery.
The helm includes a Danforth compass and Datamarine depth and apparent wind gauges( not working).
The standing rigging appears to be in serviceable condition (probably needs to be tuned) although the running rigging will need attention. The Lewmar winches appear to function properly.
The sail inventory includes the mainsail, the mizzen sail, and a headsail on a Hood Yacht Systems Seafurler 2 roller furling system. The sail covers are not in good condition but the seller states that the sails themselves are in serviceable condition.
The ground tackle includes two anchors, chain, and rode. The size of anchors, length of chain, and rode are unknown.
There are dinghy davits with electric winches that did operate when operated. The top safety line is solid aluminum all around.
Although this Endeavour E40 ketch certainly needs some TLC, she appears to be a solid vessel with the potential to make someone a nice live-aboard and a worthy sailing vessel again.
As previously stated, all mechanical and operational systems on this Endeavor E40 need to be evaluated and tested as to their current operating condition.
The owner does have an abundance of logs and owner/operator manuals for components and systems.
