This Formosa 41 is definitely set up for serious offshore cruising. From the sturdiness of its construction that you can feel as it cuts through waves to it's SSB system with weather fax to ta watermaker to the storage that keeps things in place no matter what the sea state and much more - this entire boat is set up to be a reliable and rugged offshore cruiser.
One small thing that would be great to see on every boat but that few have is a bilge pump counter so that you can know if there has ever been a leak and how big it is.
Another nice feature is that there is plexiglass instead of a solid board covering the water system in the head allowing one to see the water system.
The current owner has traveled the west coast of the US down to Sea of Cortez in Mexico for the past 11 years. A previous owner made an ocean crossing to New Zealand and back.
The owner slept in the v-berth, but the settee is also a very good berth with a wood board that can be raised and lowered that serves as a lee cloth.
Up in the cockpit, there is an array of electronics that help with navigation.

There are some maintenance needs, but nothing that would stop one from taking her out sailing tomorrow. She needs a bottom paint job, new cutlass bearings on the shaft, the SSB needs a receiver. Watermaker needs service and a new membrane because the owner didn't pickle it once when he was gone longer than expected.
