Three of the greatest names in sailing came together to build this exquisite yacht. Halsey Herreshoff, Gerry Hoyt, and Evert Pearson. They originally came together working on Freedom sailboats after their successful partnership on the Freedom sailboats They decided to take it further and the H-31 was produced. Produced by the cat ketch corporation.
Herreshoff is hands down the greatest name in sailing. Three generations raced in America's cup. America's cup museum is connected to the Herreshoff Museum.
Herreshoff Is responsible for the yacht design and hull design as a 3rd generation naval architect.
Gary Hoyt is an Olympic sailing Champion. Responsible for the unique rigging and sail Inventory. Everet Pearson of Pearson Yachts Is world-renowned for his rugged sailboat hull builds.
The boat has a draft of 4 ft so she can sail anywhere. Simplified sailing all self-tending sails.
The boat is powered by an Italian Nanni Industries 18hp engine. The fuel tank holds 18 gallons. The batteries were recently replaced and the boat has two 100w solar panels.
The cockpit is roomy with wheel steering and the cockpit table folds neatly out of the way when not in use.
Down below is an open space, it lacks a forward bulkhead between the main cabin and the forward cabin. With sleeping accommodations for four crew, there is a forward V-berth in the bow and two double bunks in the main cabin, with a removable table in-between them. The berths all have storage underneath them.
The galley has an open layout and the head is to port at the foot of the companionway stairs. The engine is accessible by two removable doors.
This unstayed rigging features a simple layout. There are no winches and they are not required. The halyards are all new. Tacking does not have to involve sail handling, as the sails are self-tending.
Two anchors included: 50' chain on the CQR with 100' rode, 25' chain with 100' rode on the Plow anchor.
This Herreshoff is ready to sail. The seller has enjoyed this easy-to-sail cat and moved up to a larger Freedom 40 Cat Ketch.
The head is currently not working as the black tank has been removed, the head remains intact and was rebuilt recently.
The owner/Captain maintains her, The engine runs well according to the owner. Northstar GPS is not working, the bimini frame is bent.

Water tank cleaned and vent hose installed with shutoff. Safety feature.
50 for the chain on CQR with 100 foot Rode 12 strain
25 foot a chain 100 rode on Plow
All sails went through and re-stitched
Canvas went through.
Three halyards in each mast with new blocks and new running Rigging.
Masts both rebedded
Portlights good
New 6. 6V battery bank Cycled once. Installed three months ago brand new.
