1979 Morgan 41 Out Island Ketch Sailboat in Salinas, Puerto Rico

Stock #141201

RECENT PRICE REDUCTION! Don't let this GREAT DEAL pass you by!

New Photos from March, 2019!

This 1978 Morgan Out Island 415 was hauled in July 2017 in Puerto Rico and received a new bottom job, new prop, new zincs, six below waterline thru hulls and a new swim platform.

With a 59HP Perkins M60 diesel engine and 140 gallon fuel tank, you'll have no problem cruising the Caribbean.

This known issue will need to be addressed by a new buyer. The cost has been taken into consideration in the asking price:

--- Three chain plates are cracked and need to be replaced. Also, back plates need to installed on all chain plates (old and new).

As of late April, 2019 the BUC Value in "Average" Condition of this vessel is $$35,700-$39,700 with original engine; not including any upgrades, electronics or safety equipment.

Other desirable off-shore cruising and liveaboard features include:

-- A 170 gallon fresh water tank
-- Simrad autopilot
-- Two 240 watt solar panels
-- Honda 2000 generator

A brand new Isotherm fridge has been purchased but not yet installed.

The only hurricane damage to this stunning vessel was a bent stanchion base on the port side and some damage the wind generator blades. She was in the water but protected from the heavy winds in a mangrove cove.

As is evident from the photos, this beauty has been well-loved and maintained by her current owners prior to leaving the Caribbean.

She has been sitting on a mooring for about a year with part-time caretakers looking after her. She will need some minor TLC by a new buyer.

The standing rigging was all replaced, including chain plates, in 2013. There is a brand new set of chain plates aboard as well. Two sets were made at the time all rigging was replaced. All rigging was also inspected during the haul-out survey in July 2017 (details below.)

Other newer additions include:

-- Two brand new 4G AGM batteries (Sept 2017)
-- New isolated starter battery (Feb. 2017)
-- Two brand new Lewmar winches (not yet installed)
-- Brand new Lee Sails stack packs (Sept 2017 - not yet installed)
-- New Mainsail (Sept 2017)

In August 2017, the 110v electrical system including shore power terminal was re-wired. The forward head was also completely rebuilt.

This boat also has a hard top over the cockpit with full dodger.

For anchorage, there are two plows and two CQRS including plenty of rode.

Also included in the sale is a 12' inflatable dinghy with Mercury 15hp outboard - condition unknown.

Please get in touch for a free Boat History Report!

-----> Please note: Boat is being sold as is, where is. A personal inspection and in-water survey are possible but due to the owner not being in Puerto Rico, no water trial is possible. It is also possible to run the engines as part of the inspection process. Any offer will not have a water trial contingency. This has been taken into consideration in the asking price and is why the asking price is so low!

Tender included.
