This Tung Hwa 36 is a proven bluewater cruiser, rigged to go the distance! The boat is moored on the Panhandle of Florida and is the perfect Caribbean cruiser.
The Multi 36 is a full keel sailboat with encapsulated ballast and a keel-hung rudder below the striking wineglass stern. The hardtop fiberglass dodger and hardtop cockpit cover keep the spray and sun at bay when on the seas.
On deck, the boat is smartly designed with wide walkarounds and scuppers spaced along the rails. A storage box near the bow is perfectly located and keeps the decks clear. The oversized shrouds run out to external chainplates keeping the standing rigging off of the deck and out of the way. The headsail sheets run aft to the winches in the cockpit and each mast has a halyard winch.
The boat sleeps up to five guests and crew and has a full galley with sink, stove, oven, refrigerator, and microwave. She can stay at anchor away from shore power indefinitely using the three 140W solar panels, 1000W inverter, four six-volt batteries. The batteries power the refrigerator, LED lights and fans.
The cabin is smartly organized with a large dinette with surrounding settees. The table has storage for charts inside and is a beautiful centerpiece. The V-berth forward is over 8' wide at the large end. It has storage underneath and a big hatch above for airflow. A big comfortable single berth is amidship with a real mattress and the quarter berth is aft. The settee can sleep more with the cushions removed.
For the ground, this one has a windlass, a 65 lb plow anchor and a 44 lb Bruce style anchor. Each have 42' of chain and more 3/4" rode.
At the helm are the Raymarine autopilot, Garmin GPSmap plotter and Standard Horizon VHF radio. The VHF is linked to the GPS for displaying AIS signals. A second VHF is below decks at the chart table.
This Tung Hwa is a sailor's sailer that anyone would be proud to own. The boat is clean, clean, clean inside and out. All of the electrical, mechanical, plumbing and rigging features work as expected, the owner confirms.
Injectors on the Yanmar engine were cleaned and reassembled, motor mounts replaced, and the prop was replaced in 2020.
The stove was replaced in 2020. Lighting is converted to LED and all are 12v.
