1962 Concordia 40 Motorsailer in Portland, Connecticut

Stock #063141

Although located in Canada, due to Canadian regulations, this boat is not available for sale to potential buyers in Canada.

This beautiful, grand old motorsailer, a classy looking wooden-hulled head-turner, is desperately deserving a caring new owner.

This is the third of three Concordia designed motorsailers built by Bud McIntosh. With a 50' LOA and 40' LOD she provides plenty of space for use as a live-aboard or as an efficient cruiser.

Out of water for six years due to her owner's poor health, she needs to have her hull refinished, likely part and possibly total re-fastening, but her lines are straight, and ribs and keel appear to be in very good condition, not surprising given the reputation for outstanding construction the Concordia enjoys.

Given the owner was in the cabinetry business, it is also not surprising that the interior is in excellent condition thanks to a significant investment into a very tasteful renovation fifteen years ago.

Quite simply, she needs to be in the water, skippered by a new owner who knows her pedigree and will, for every moment of life aboard or gazing at her in her slip or swinging on her mooring, feel that sense of pride and responsibility that comes when preserving something irreplaceable for the next generation to enjoy.

Information On Condition

Interior is in excellent condition, timbers and ribs straight and true, as seen in the photographs. Due to extended time out of the water, the hull may be in need of partial or full below waterline refastening. Ample, experienced capability to perform these services at a reasonable rate are available at the marina where she rests. We will assist prospective buyers with introductions to contractor resources and obtaining estimates.
