Welcome aboard the "We'll Sea" this grand ole vessel will make a great weekend getaway for the family, or very comfortable live aboard vessel.
Powered by twin Detroit Diesel 8V71 supercharged power plants rated at 325 HP each, mated to Allison M transmissions. The owner estimated a cruising speed of 15 mph, and a top speed of 22 mph.

---Key Features---
-Spacious and comfortable.
-Twin Detroit 8V71 Diesel engines
-13.5Kw Diesel Generator
-Bottom cleaned and painted 5 years ago.

Other mechanical features include a Perkins diesel running a Marathon Electric 13.5k generator head, two 30 amp shore power feeds, 150 gallon fresh water tank, and a 50 gallon black water tank.

This 1972 Chris-Craft started life as a corporate owned vessel in Florida, it then went to Vancouver B.C., then finally ending up in the Portland, OR area. The exact timeline is not known, but the current owner has had the vessel for 15 years.

---MODEL OVERVIEW---
(From the Power Boat Guide)
"The Chris 45 Commander MY is a traditional flush-deck motor yacht of the type made popular by Chris Craft back in the 1960s and 70s. Heavily built to near bulletproof lamination schedules, there are many who find these old yachts to be the essence of beauty and design elegance. The standard two-stateroom floorplan came in several configurations over the years, and it's notable that the original galley-up layouts featured a full-width forward stateroom with the head compartment in the forepeak--a very unique arrangement. A popular three-stateroom interior with a deckhouse galley became available in 1977, and a more conventional twostateroom interior with the galley down followed the next year. Interestingly, a dinette was never offered in the 45 Commander MY--a rare omission in a boat this size. A flybridge proved a popular option although most 45s were sold as hardtops in the early years. A good many 45 Commanders were powered with 325hp GM 8V71 diesels for an economical cruising speed of 14-15 knots and a top speed of about 18 knots. The cruising range is around 225-250 nautical miles. Note that the engineroom is a tight fit."

Local Broker notes:
"First impression of this boat is how spacious it is, the main salon has a dining table, wicker loveseat, and a mount for a flat screen TV. There is plenty of room to add furnishings of your choice. The galley is large and there is a 3 burner electric stove with oven, and twin stainless steel sinks. Additionally, the galley also has plenty storage space, and a counter extension that easily flips up with one hand. The original galley refrigerator does not work.

The aft companionway leads to the Master Stateroom. With a queen bed, beautiful cabinetry, and a full size closet, you will be very comfortable. The master head is also quite large, with a toilet, sink, shower and plenty of storage space.

The forward stateroom has two berths on the port side, plus cabinets, and a closet on the starboard side. Farther forward is another head. The head in the bow also includes a toilet, sink, and shower. The shower stall has a shelf custom made to fit which is also easily removable."

Information On Condition

The overall condition of this vessel appears to be sound, The owner had the vessel hauled out 5 years ago, and found it to be in better than expected condition. All of the through hull fittings were inspected good, the zincs were replaced, and the bottom was cleaned and painted.

Yes, this boat does need some TLC, as would be expected on an older boat. The seller is aware of several issues that need attention. The galley fridge doesn't work, there is a refrigerator in the cockpit that works, and the original fridge under the captain's seat still works. There are also a variety of gauges that don't function, and the seller knows of one soft spot on the port side of the cockpit deck, there is evidence that the port side windows have been leaking, and it could be related. The owner has also unhooked the port batteries from the charger because of an overcharging issue; he believes the battery isolator is not wired correctly.

The port engine shows 3775 hours, and the Starboard has 3423 hours on them. The top end of the engines were rebuilt at approximately 2200 hours. Two years ago the owner rebuilt the Starboard transmission, and replaced the port engine's supercharger, and starter.

The seller is including a functional VHF radio, and GPS, but all other electronics on the bridge are non-functional. There is a lift for a tender that has been removed for paint. The diesel heater was repaired about two years ago, but is in need of attention again.

The owners work responsibilities are preventing him from spending as much time with this vessel as he would like to.
