We are proud to label this boat sold. Meeting my new owner in Fort Lauderdale, FL!
This 1993 Hyundai Sonata 5300 presents a rare opportunity to own a large motoryacht at a "needs work" price. In its day, the Hyundai was quite the yacht. Unfortunately, this boat has not been used at all in years, and its current owner received the boat as an inheritance. The owner had twin CATs serviced. The egines are the original with only 84 hours (365 tach reading) on them due to the owner's parents having health problems and never really being able to use the boat.
The boat is unable to have a water test, based on the unknown issue props that need replacing. So this boat is an "AS IS WHERE IS" boat. The engines as well as the rigging and bottom was recently evaluated as indicated under "Information on Condition" below.
Cosmetically, a new owner's taste would include replacements and upgrades on flooring, appliances, teak refinishing, and other items to transform the vessel back to its original beautiful condition. The salon has no furniture.
There are too many features on this Hyundai to list, but some of the highlights include:
15' 8" Beam
-Starboard Exit Door at Helm
-Large Swim Platform
-Large Deck Before Entrance to Cabin
-Flybridge Bench Seating
-110 Volt Outlets Throughout
-Engine Room Entrance on Galley to Salon Steps
-Large State Room with Walk Around King Bed and Night Stands
-Cedar Lined Hanging Lockers
-Lots of Built-in Drawers and Storage
-Two Heads with Showers
This 1993 Hyundai is just waiting for that special couple or family who would enjoy the project of restoring this yacht to a vessel for traveling adventures, or simply to a very comfortable and unique liveaboard. Come see this yacht and, if you can envision the possibilities, you will be impressed with the opportunity that awaits!
This 1993 Hyundai has had the engines serviced and there are only 84 hours on these original engines; the tach reads 365. Recent inspection by diesel mechanic (4-2017) found no issues or concerns with the Caterpillars. The boat needs hauled and full layered bottom paint job. A recent evaluation (4-2017) of the bottom showed predominantly pea size blisters with some dime size, but presented no concerns regarding the hull or the rigging. Electronics and appliances need replacing, no house batteries, and batteries need to be properly secured. A generator switch at the helm is nonoperable. Water damage exists as shown in the photos. There's a cracked window in the salon. There may also be other items that were discovered in the recent 4-17 evaluations.
The following service and replacements were done in 2016: replaced fuel filters, flushed fuel system, changed oil, replaced fan belts, two new ignition switches, new radiator caps.
60-day Sea Tow membership* comes standard with your boat purchase!
