2001 Novatec 57 Motoryacht in Marco Island, Florida

Stock #182880

Whether you're wanting to live aboard full time or just want to take everything including the kitchen sink with you on your yachting vacation, the Novatec 57 is the ideal motor yacht for the task.

Built like a battleship, this yacht features a solid fiberglass hull that gives her incredible strength in rough seas and a stable platform for living on in calmer waters. Power comes from a pair of CAT 3196E motors making 660HP each. The combination of great power and a planing hull make this one of the fastest and fastest accelerating motor yachts in her class and age.

Once on plane, she likes to stay there, even down as slow as 15kts. That means that you can pull the power back, enjoy some great fuel efficiency, and just enjoy the ride. Her seller reports that pulling the power back to just 8kts gives you a pleasant displacement ride at a miserly 8 gallons-per-hour fuel burn.

As a cockpit motor yacht, she has a very nice cockpit out back with a swim platform and swim ladder, a grill, shower, and unique to this boat, a SCUBA tank fill system. If you're a diver, this is definitely the boat for you. She even comes with a pair of rod holders in case you want to try and catch dinner.

Access to the bow is safe and easy with a wide walkway along both sides with handrails. Once there you find a large sun pad for the sunbathers in the family plus speakers to keep the party going up front. There is surface access to the anchor and windlass plus windlass foot controls and large cleats on both sides.

The enclosed upper deck is air-conditioned and features a custom built cherry dining table with teak inlays, refrigerator, lighted wine rack, and a leather sofa that opens to a queen bed for extra guest accommodation. The table is mounted to the deck on a large polished stainless pedestal and can be moved to a second socket on the port side when you want to open the deck up for more entertaining space. Turning this space into a fully featured living space is a large flat screen TV and DirecTV receiver.

The bridge is fully enclosed with the optional glass windshield and is air-conditioned. The view from here is a panoramic 360 degrees. There is built in seating for about ten people and an upholstered rear deck that can be used to sleep 1-2 children or a smaller adult. Behind the bridge, on the roof over the salon, is the mounting bracket for the life raft, a dinghy rack, and a recently refurbished davit. The helm features two Garmin GPS units, VHF radio, a navigation computer, Furuno radar display, autopilot, full digital engine instrumentation, and a KVH Tracphone handset and shipboard intercom telephone.

Maneuvering this vessel in tight spaces is made simple with both bow and stern thrusters making it possible to spin her in her length and parallel park the boat into a berth.

While there are fun and excitement to be had above decks, belowdecks is where this vessel wraps you in luxury accommodations. Walking the steps down into the salon, the first thing you notice is the amount of bright woodwork throughout. The entire boat is filled with cherry, walnut, and teak woodwork with beautiful inlays. The salon is very comfortable with a leather L-shaped settee to port and a cabinet entertainment center to starboard.

The galley is large and features a residential sized refrigerator, microwave with convection oven, a three-burner electric cooktop, full-size sink, and Corian countertops. Opposite is a four-seat leather cushioned dinette with a burled walnut table top that adjusts down to become an extra berth when needed.

Continuing forward you find the laundry room with a full-sized stacked washer/dryer. At the end of the companionway is the guest stateroom, a large room with a queen bed, lots of storage, hanging closet, and drawers. This stateroom would qualify as a master on other boats, but here it is a place of privacy and comfort for your overnight guests.

There is an en-suite head with full shower and Vacuflush toilet. A second door opens the head to the companionway. Opposite the head is the other guest stateroom/crew quarters with a pair of bunks, hanging closet, and desk. Each stateroom has its own air conditioning system and an intercom handset.

Going down the aft companionway from the salon takes you to the truly massive master stateroom. A king size bed is centered in the space with his and her dressers and lighted closets to either side. A door to the cockpit brings natural light, emergency egress, and convenience to this room. The master head is ample in size and comes with a full-sized shower and bathtub.

What differentiates the Novatec 57 from its slightly smaller sibling, the 55, is the ease of access to the engine room. Engine room access in the 57 comes from the aft companionway, through a closet with cabinets and drawers perfect for storing spare parts, filters, fluids, and tools. The hatch into the engine room is sound and heat insulated.

The engine room itself is a large, almost stand-up sized space with plenty of shoulder room between the engines. The aft portion is dominated by the 660HP CAT 3196E motors, leaving the forward area open for easy access to the Onan generator, six HVAC units, 20-gallon water heater, water maker, and other pumps. A total of eight batteries provide power to start the motors, electrify the house through an inverter, and power the bow and stern thrusters.

The Novatec 57 CPMY is the stuff that yachting dreams are made of. No matter what you want to do with your next motor yacht, the 57 can probably do it.
