There are also 2 LED light bars under the bimini to assist at night. One is white to help loading and unloading. And, the other is red, which is just enough light at night to see in the boat without obscuring objects outside the boat.
Other added upgrades include her teak sole and trim, stainless steel T-top, and stereo sound system. In her original condition, this boat was capable of transporting up to 3 tons of cargo and 22 sailors.
In her current refurbished condition, she has become a well-recognized member of the famed VOL Navy - ideally suited for leisurely cruises.
This beautiful 26' vessel, built by Uniflite in 1968, proudly served as a Captain's tender for the U.S. Navy.
Completely overhauled from the hull up by Love Me Tender Boat Co. in Nashville, TN. Powered by a rebuilt 4-cylinder Perkins diesel engine, she has also had a complete replacement of her upholstery, wiring, and controls.
The United States Navy has been using whaleboats since 1791. The unique shape of their hull and open structure allows for easy access and personnel loading. Whaleboats are still used in modern day as captain's tenders, lifeboats, patrol boats, touring vessels, and pleasure boats.
It does not come with a trailer, but the owner may have access to one for transport.
This boat is economical to run, and can accommodate many people for a day on the river or lake. But, most importantly is the new owner will have a beautiful classic that has historical significance.
Per the Seller: This boat is in very good condition. All systems are working . There is a bow thruster included, but it has never been installed. The sink and refrigerator make a day outing very enjoyable.
