The 25 foot wooden Pilothouse was custom built by Antonio Dias Designs of Narragansett, Rhode Island and was featured in the September/October 2000 issue of Wooden Boat magazine. The boat was named Tautog. The features and drawings are included in the article and the boat took almost two years to build. Some of the details about this boat are listed below as given to me by the seller:
Fiberglass over cedar wood hull, inside and out
Teak walls and motor hatch
Two 10 gallon inboard fuel tanks
25 hp 4 stroke Honda motor Top Speed = 13 knots
Cabin has a V- berth for a queen size bed
Sink with cabinet
Wheel steering and trailerable
A light vessel by design with even lighter displacement with traditional lines and a fair amount of deadrise. Spacious aft bench to enjoy the sky and light and accommodations to spend the night.
Antonio Dias is an artist of the water either by boat designs or by his many oil paintings that are due walls in museums. His marine works are breathtaking and four are included in the line-up of photos so you will know the eyes and soul of Tautog's creater.
Designer of the Tautog:
"Painting provides us with the miracle of suspending moments of time, suspending the results of our actions in all of their freshness upon the surface of the painting. Three hundred years later that freshness is still there. If we haven't destroyed it...." Antonio Dias
