The FT10 is an affordable club racer and easy-to-sail fun day cruiser with its light displacement, open transom, and bowsprit that supports a large masthead asymmetrical spinnaker. The boat was designed to fit inside a standard shipping container, which allowed it to be built in Xiamen China by Hansheng Yachts and shipped anywhere in the world easily.
The idea of building an affordable 30 feet club racer emerged in 2002 as a heated discussion topic in the on-line forum Sailing Anarchy. A group of avid sailors contributed to the definition of the requirements and guided naval architect Robert H. Perry through the design of a 30 ft concept boat called the Anarchy 30. Starting from the Anarchy 30, Perry designed the Flying Tiger 10 M during 2005 with the active input and comments from the forum members, in a process that is probably unique in the history of American yacht design and building.
This FT10 has a carbon fiber mast, spars and boom as well as a roller furling jib. This is not standard on a FT10 and was added by the seller.
1. Mainsail - Carbon laminate sail by Sobstad Sails 10/10 - used 6/7 tims
2. Mainsail - Dacron, barely used, 9/10
3. Jib - Medium weight carbon string sail by Quantum 7/10
4. #4 - older 5/10
5. Spinnaker - Red FT .75 oz 8/10
6. Spinnaker - Larger, All-Purpose useful for higher angles beyond running 7/10
This FT10 has only been used sparingly - on average 5-7 times a year. That means unlike other racing boats including other FTs, this one is not worn down or used hard. It appears in great condition with a great sail inventory.
