Rinker Boats Hold Up a 70-year Legacy of Quality Vessels
America has a long history of boat builders who started started small and, over the years and with many innovations, grew to international status. That's certainly true for Rinker boats, which Lossie "L.E." Rinker began in the 1930s when building small fishing boats in his Indiana workshop.

Eventually, Rinker turned into a family affair with both of Lossie's sons, Jan and John, joining the business and branching out into racing boats (1945), fiberglass tri-hulls (1970s) cruisers (1988) and sportsboats and express cruisers (2012).

That productive history, Rinker says on its website, makes it the oldest American boat brand in continuous production ... with manufacturing still centered in Indiana. Today, Rinker focuses on its Captiva sportboat and Express Cruisers models.

Over the years, Rinker has developed a reputation for putting out quality-built boats at desirable prices that are reasonable for families to get into boating. The vinyl, spacious seating areas, galley hardware and gel coating are all stand-out features.

While base models are well-equipped, Rinker does offer plenty of upgrade options, so if you're in the market for a used Rinker boat, it's a good idea to get a full list of what's been added to give the vessel its value, great looks and performance. A luxury sport package, for instance, could have been in the $4,800 add-on range for the original buyer, with upgrades to the steering wheel, upholstery, helm, instrumentation, graphics, swim lights and more. So be sure to ask your POP Yachts' representative for all those details.

For instance, the 2005 Rinker 342 Fiesta Vee, pictured above, includes tons of storage as well as passenger space, allowing enough room to sleep up to six. You'll find amenities like a built-in stereo, microwave and coffee machine as well as a spacious head with shower and a foredeck sunpad.

Another great option among POP Yachts' 85-plus used Rinker boats is the 2002 Rinker 342, which has updated speakers, a custom-made camper canvas and many other options that your POP Yachts' representative can walk you through.

If you've got your eye on a Bowrider, check out the 2006 Rinker 262 Captiva with trailer, that has an upgraded 8.1L Volvo motor as well as upgraded stereo and radio controls.
