The USCG Curtis Yard is a welded steel utility vessel set up for towing and commercial use. It has welded plate steel with frame bulkheads.

There are twin inboard Detroit Diesel engines with attached Allison transmissions and a single helm station.

The vessel is equipped with navigation
electronics, helm enclosure, towing stanchion, helm seating, and an open aft deck.

There is an enclosed forward cabin along with engine enclosures. The vessel is equipped with many systems and hardware for long range tow operations.

Information On Condition

The owner of this vessel says that this boat is built like a tank, but it definitely needs some work to get her seaworthy again. He says the Detroit Diesel engines run strong and they don't need a thing, but the boat is going to need a new fuel tank (maybe two) and some hull patching work before she goes back in the water.

The boat is easily accessible for a showing if you are near the outer banks of NC and you want to come over to check it out.
