1983 Aloha 34 Sloop Sailboat in Green Cove Springs, Florida

Stock #225434

This 1983 Aloha 34 is about as "honest" as a boat can get. She's a masthead sloop with a fiberglass encapsulated lead fin keel and a full skeg rudder.

She has a hand laid mat and woven roving hull construction (no chopper gun) and the hull is in excellent condition. In 2015 it had seven layers of Interprotect 2000e barrier coat and the bottom was completely refinished in August 2020. Additionally, the hull from the boot stripe to the toe rail was compounded, waxed, and buffed.

Below she's been well cared for. The cabin feels roomy for a boat of her size with a conveniently laid out galley to port at the bottom of the ladder and a nav table and quarter berth to starboard.

Forward there is a spacious salon with settee/sleepers both port and starboard, a good-sized head and shower, and a forward v berth. There appears to be plenty of storage and hanging locker space as well.

There are 3 opening hatches, 10 opening cabin side windows, 2 Dorade vents, and 2 Vetus deck vents for good ventilation and plenty of natural light.

The supplemental power is a Westerbeke 21 HP diesel. Although the actual engine hours are unknown the engine starts and runs smoothly with very little smoke and no indication of looming issues.

Back on top the standing and running rigging appear to be in very serviceable condition. The shrouds are 316 stainless steel with swaged tops and Stay-Lok bottoms redone in 2017. There is also a Dynex Dux synthetic backstay with an integrated SSB antenna also added in 2017.

There is a Hood Seafurl 2 roller furling and 316 stainless lifelines that were redone in 2020.

Ground tackle includes a Primary anchor: 45lb Mantus primary anchor (2016) with 20 meters of 8mm G4 chain (2019) spliced to 225 feet 5/8 nylon 8-plait rode (2016), and a 25lb Danforth kedge anchor w/150 feet of 1/2 nylon 3 strand rode. There is also a 25lb CQR and an aluminum fortress style Viking model 50 as backup anchors.

Sail inventory includes a main, genoa, jib, and spinnaker, all in good serviceable condition.

Electric power is provided by six 6v GC2 lead-acid batteries wired into a 12v system with 645ah capacity total (2020). The batteries are supplied by 350w flexible solar panels mounted on bimini (2017) and controlled by a Bogart Engineering TM-2030RV programmable battery monitor system with a linked SC-2030 solar charge controller (2016). There is also a 1500w pure sine wave inverter (2015).

Navigation and communication electronics include a Raymarine Ev-100 wheel driven autopilot (2017), a
Standard Horizon GX2200 VHF with AIS receive, GPS, and DSC distress (2016), an Icom M802 marine SSB radio with At-140 automatic antenna tuner, a B&G Triton T41 Nmea2000 Depth/Speed/Temp display (2015) [needs new transducer], and a Ubiquity Bullet WiFi Booster (2015).

This 1983 Aloha has not been sitting on the hard for years making you wonder whether or not she's seaworthy anymore. She is a proven blue water sailor and she's fit and ready to hit the water again.
