1974 Cal-Petersen 3-30 Sloop Sailboat in St Clair Shores, Michigan

Stock #101731

Although located in Canada, due to Canadian regulations, this boat is not available for sale to potential buyers in Canada.

The Cal 3-30 combines the best of everything in this third generation design without sacrificing interior comforts or high speed hull shape. It possesses full headroom, good speed, easy handling in all weather, and a lot of sailplan.

The Cal-Petersen 3-30 is an all-weather boat carrying an additional 500 pounds of ballast making it a stiffer boat. She has exceptional power to weather due to the taller masthead rig and the accompanying additional sale area. When you combine the fine entry with the large sale area you get a vessel that performs well to weather as well as maintaining downwind performance this design is known to possess.

The tall masthead provides a high aspect ratio, proportional relationship between the sails width to height. It provides for a variety of headsail choices for either cruising or racing.

The main and forward cabins are spacious and accommodating. The boat sleeps six and provides standing headroom for six footers. The main cabin contains three 7 foot berths. For safety and comfort, the settee seat backs fold up into bunk boards. The galley is located port side aft and features an icebox, gimbal mounted 3 burner gas stove, stainless steel sink, fresh water pump, and plenty of cupboards and stowage area. An enclosed head separates the two cabins. The head is equipped with a portable MSD, vanity sink with hand pump, and stowage underneath the sink. It also contains two opening ports. The forward cabin has a double berth with built-in shelving. The sole is teak and holly with teak exterior trim. To aft starboard you'll find a navigation station. It is completed with a chart table, navigator seat, gooseneck light, oilskin stowage, and a quarter berth.

The cockpit is designed to be comfortable and spacious. The 8 foot self-bailing, fully scuppered cockpit seats and seat backs set at heights and angles that usher comfort while providing great visibility over the cabin top. The cockpit also features a bridgedeck to keep passengers and captain dry while providing easy access forward. Carefully placed handrails are positioned to provide additional safety while moving around on deck.

The Cal-Petersen 3-30 comes with 13 sails which include 2 spinnakers, 2 mains, a storm jib, 130 Genoa, and a 150 Genoa. It also outfitted with all new Raymarine instrument set including i50 depth finder, i50 speed indicator, i60 wind speed and direction.
