With more than 6000 sold, the Catalina 30 is one of the most successful production sailing vessels ever.

And for good reason, too. The ideal size for new sailors on the way up and old sailors on the way back down, small families, solo sailors, and vagabonds, with good performance and plenty of space for all the usual fitting out.

One unique design feature is the generous cockpit sporting a gaping hatchway entry down below, larger than that of many boats half again the size, which really opens things up, almost a sunroof for those below and giving great freedom of movement between.

Down below you have a pretty much standard layout, an aft quarter berth to port, nav station, galley starboard, a convertible dinette with large table, wet head with shower forward, and the forward v-berth.

Plenty of cabinets and under-seat storage, and good sized tankage for this size boat as well, really capable of far more than day sailing for the couple that wishes to wander.

And for those who just like to hang out at the dock, or when nasty weather changes plans for the weekend, the installed reverse cycle air conditioning makes hunkering in more comfortable.

So, study the photos, read the reviews and forums on the web, of which there are many, it is easy to see why this is one of the most popular and familiar sailing vessels ever made.

Information On Condition

The photos are current as of 8/2021 and tell the cosmetic story, many things have been maintained and upgraded over the years and the owner reports that all shipboard systems and propulsion machinery are in proper working order, sails and rigging serviceable.
