** BRING OFFERS, SELLER IS MOTIVATED AND WILL CONSIDER ALL REASONABLE OFFERS! SHE WILL NOT BE ON THE MARKET MUCH LONGER**

This boat is in very good condition. It feels like a larger boat below deck, due to the layout and headroom. A good cleaning and possibly painting of the deck and you've got the perfect short and/or extended cruising sailboat for many years to come.

This Catalina 34 is a perfect cruising sailboat for the Chesapeake Bay or coastal waters. It is built solid, yet provides plenty of room and comfort. She is fully operational and ready to go.

This boat has traveled well; The owner has some logs showing time on the west coast and through the Panama Canal and Long Island. He has sailed the boat from Long Island to Baltimore, around the Chesapeake Bay and around the Delmarva Peninsula.

He has owned this Catalina 34 since the fall of 2009 and has been using and enhancing this vessel since then. Below you will find a substantial list of items have been replaced/rebuilt/refurbished since ownership in 2009. Improvements have been focused more on reliability, safety and usability than cosmetic, but some of that has been done, too.

The layout of this boat was ahead of its time for 1987, with two full cabins with doors for privacy and a sizable central head. There is a nice large dinette to starboard and large settee (couch) to port; both of these can become sleeping areas. In whole the boat can sleep seven people.

The galley includes a double sink, a two burner stove on gimbals, and a sizable ice box. The ice box is electric and can run on either 12 volt boat power or 120 volt shore power. The stove is a non-pressurized alcohol, very safe and cheap to operate.

The head (bathroom) includes a toilette, shower floor pump, and sink with pull out shower. The toilette was replaced in 2010 and valves rebuilt again last year. The entire waste water system has been replaced, including the holding tank, all plumbing and macerator pump.

The boat includes a freshwater system with two water tanks, water pressure pump and hot water heater. The water heater can operate from shore power or the engine's heat. A cockpit shower is included too.

The boat includes a hardy reliable Universal Diesel M-25XP engine. This is a three piston 23 HP engine that pushes the boat well, using the installed three blade brass prop and stainless shaft with new dripless seal. See the list below for improvements made here.

The boat includes a well planned electrical system with two house battery banks in addition to one dedicated engine starting battery. The house battery banks were recently upgraded to a four golf cart battery system with battery monitors on each. There is a shore power charging system for the house banks, and an engine charging isolator keeping the engine battery topped and then charging the house batteries. The shore power connection also includes a galvanic isolator.

The boat electronics include VHF radio with mast head antenna and wireless mic, Garmin GPS, and modern RayMarine auto pilot. There are also traditional speed and depth meters, and a radio/cd player with two internal and two external speakers.

The boat includes a small size marine air conditioning unit. With the addition of a quality inverter it should be possible to run this AC unit from the large house battery banks for a few hours at anchor.

The hull has just been sanded down and painted with two fresh coats of dual biocide bottom paint. At this time the upper hull was cleaned and waxed. The professional bottom painter said the boat has no blisters, and if it has not gotten any by now it never will.

Optional components, based on final agreed sale price, are an 8.5 foot dingy with 2.5 HP engine and/or a six man inflating coastal life raft. The sun awning canvas is new and the main sail cover is brand new. For fun, the boat includes an A-sym spinnaker from a J-105.

Lots of good stuff, but still, this is a 1987 boat so everything is not perfect, which I have tried to reflect in the price.

There are really only two areas that I see a new owner may want to improve. First, the sails are getting old, the jib is not too bad, the main usable, I use it all the time, but a new main sail would be nice - or perhaps a good condition used racing sail. Second, some cosmetic stuff, the upper deck could use some paint and scrubbing and it might be nice to replace the cabin sole, but not required.
