Hull #41!!! Completely refurbished to like new condition, this Chinook is a beautiful and well-constructed bluewater sailboat that will catch a lot of attention as you sail into any harbor. The most common comment the current owner receives is, "It's a classic, which you have in really nice condition."
The Chinook 34 was the very first production fiberglass sailboat ever made. To prove that fiberglass was strong enough, they made a sample that was tested for strength including shooting it with bullets at from a distance of 10 feet. In 1955, they used a wooden plug made from based on the Vigilant, the sailboat that won the 1893 America's Cup. From this wooden plug, they made a fiberglass mold. The fiberglass on these Chinooks was very thick. In fact hull #2 was dropped 15 feet during production without a single crack or any damage.
This one is hull #42 out of 70, which were made between 1956 and 1968 by Cascade Yachts in Oregon. It sails like a dream and is fairly heavy for it size, which gives it the ability to handle rough water pretty easily. This one has been sailed up and down the west coast and the owner reports it sails well in strong winds. This is definitely a sailor's sailboat that could be single-handed across oceans or brought with pride into any yacht club around. They were designed by Geiger to be a comfortable boat with great lines that can sleep four with a big galley and a big cockpit.

This Chinnok is in completely restored, immaculate condition. We're told everything works except the anchor light on top is the most. Every part in the boat appears well maintained. The hull looks in great shape. The sails, standing rigging and running rigging appear in great shape.
